EDIT: I dropped the MLas in favor of better cooling and an ERPPC in each arm. If I had the slots 2 JJ would be nice but seeing as they give heat I don't poptart much anyway. Great sniper for the ERPPC. The 30% heat reduction is great. As people keep mentioning it I am fully aware of and have used the PPC builds. Original Post: Since the PPC quirks work on ERPPC this was a logical choice for the BJ-3. The single medium is really as backup in case of arm getting blown off. If you like using left side instead, swap weapons around. This thing rips now, requires range and zoom modules. Don't let that low cooling efficiency scare you, I rarely use the medium laser and those ERPPC's actually run pretty cool. Old Version
Thats very low heat efficiency.... most of your time you'll be unable to fire and your right arm/torso is terribly vulnerable.
Actually if you do the math with the quirks it's not nearly as bad as that, smurfy doesn't adjust for this. I am using this build now and the heat is very manageable. Did you try it yet? Remember the medium laser is really there as backup in case of arm destruction. Can be traded for heat sink if you drop 2 JJ's as well.
At 32% heat will not be THE issue. Especially seen that the ML will rarely be used. And there is my criticism on the build. I'd rather go for the normal PPCs and more back-up weapons.
I do it this way, long range with PPC, and short range you have 4x ML. As long as you don't use them together you are ok with heat.
Just swapped my 3 LPL fit to that and I have to say it works very well. 2 kills and 469 damage in my first ever battle using PPC's. That was on Polar of course so... heat and great for sniping.
The 32% heat isn't accurate anyway, as mentioned the MLas wasn't really to be used unless your arm gets blown off. I dropped the MLas since I never lose arms before my core. Got 1 extra heat sink, using an ERPPC in each arm. I have had some really high scoring matches in this as a great ERPPC sniper. If you like less range then go with PPC, I understand and have seen and used many of the builds. I made this because I like ERPPC's and it is quite effective. On a cold map it takes a while to overheat, good times. I like this so much more I am changing the main build.
Just for convergence/shielding I'd still run the ERPPCs asymmetrically. Especially far away you'll need to lead your shots and this far apart they will hit different parts of the enemy mech. Nevertheless, one of the few mechs that can make ERPPCs viable, I like.
