======================================================================= EDIT This has needed some tweaking since the original post, so I'm updating here with revised builds. Three variations: XL320 with SRM4 XL300 with SRM6+A STD280 with SRM4 (no AMS or BAP) Original post follows, with Smurfy previews disabled to reduce clutter ======================================================================= OK, I'm sure quad AC5 will be the king of Black Widow builds, but here's something different. I like LBX/MG crit machines, so I built this around an XL320 I had spare. I'm running AMS on almost everything right now, but you could swap that out for a BAP for faster target info - or go slower and have both, there's plenty of crit space left. There's also plenty of room in the torso to have the LBX and SRM on the same side, if you prefer. It's a money maker! (good but not amazing damage in that game, 600+ 3k, 6a, 7 components destroyed = 527,973 C-Bills) I admit this was a quick build based around an XL320 I had spare, I didn't spend a lot of time refining it. I did initially want SRM6+A but chopped it down - just personal preference, but if I couldn't fit the Artemis then I wanted the better spread of SRM4 and more ammo. However I do think it can be better & I'm going to keep working on it - my first thought is that it's plenty fast enough now (without speed tweak) and will do fine with an XL300, so this is what I'm thinking: [old build: http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=385&l=f20b554ee29fbc516b87bf4c01cd5a338464bb1f superseded by XL300/SRM6+A config in top post ] downgraded: XL300, half a ton less MG ammo upgraded: SRM6+A, AMS and BAP (might want to switch the half-ton of LBX ammo for missiles) I'll try this as soon as I can afford the engine, and if it turns out better I'll edit the top post. If I can consistently get closer to 1k damage, it could turn out to be a good cash grinder.
Alright, so I ran it with SRM6+A since last post... and tbh it doesn't feel much different. It delivers a great smack in the face to anything that peeks at you at close range, but I haven't come close to my best game, which was with the SRM4/XL320 configuration (before speed tweak). Must've been a fluke! One positive change: it really didn't need the extra heat sink, so I've ditched that; both XL variants now have AMS and BAP and plenty of ammo
