Soo many of my favorite builds fit in this chassis. Looking forward to running this, just to see how it performs.

    Thoughts concerns etc.???

I'm pretty excited about the Marauder. I haven't felt this way in a long time about getting a new mech lol. (Looking forward to the Warhammer next btw, but not with the Rifleman for some reason.) At any rate, I'm also curious as to what others have to say about the Marauders. In particular, I'm wondering if placing an XL 360 engine is worth it.

I'm digging the look of them. The slightly tilted arms are going to take some getting used to but I'm loaded up and going to begin grinding these. This is the mech I've been waiting for; lets see if PGI delivered.

I've gone through 10+ matches and won only once, which is totally depressing, but I think that speaks more about the pugs I've been grouped up with as opposed to the Marauder itself. I also like how the mech looks but more importantly the weapons are spread out pretty well (at least on the 5D since that's what I've been testing so far). The only issue I have so far is that it seems like the Marauder can get cored pretty easily especially form behind.

I think the design is very nice. I mean...god damn...it's the Marauder...so no regrets. Don't like the look of those phoenix cockpit items so. I also had roundabout 10 matches only solo drops and only with the BH2 so far. Well with alll the changes that are going on I think it's hard to compare it's potentials with other mechs. I'm running XL engine (mainly because the STD felt so slow) and didn't experience to get cored quickly. But because of the XL I stayed in 2nd line and avoid brawling and I think it helpes that players are not to familiar with the hitboxes yet...which will probably change quickly.

So far it's a fun mech. 3rd match I hit 850 DMG in the "3Rex". I also like the builds you can put on it. I didn't think I'd like the low arms, but given it's narrow front profile you can stand to crest/tank a hill longer than expected.

It's definitely a bigger target from the side, but there is a lot there to punch through. My client is down (in game crashes), and I don't seem to be able to download a clean copy, so I haven't been able to do more than look, paint these bad boys and load my starting config.

I hate when the little bit of time I have to game turns into a fight with software.

I am a fan of the front profile hitboxes, easy to distribute damage to what torso is in the best condition. the low arms give a semi decent shield if you look up. The shape of it as a whole definitely favors longer range combat, and I've found I can deliver serious punishment with bit of high ground and a good rock or building for cover. Ive been using the MAD-3R quite often and have been consistently putting up big numbers with an ERLLas sniper build and some newly critified AC2's.

I dunno man... Literally before posting this I just had a match where I was at 100% full health and then I noticed a Mad Dog attempting to come up behind me, so I turned around and faced him full front and center. I thought we were gonna brawl it out, but the next thing I knew I was dead after he alpha struck me TWICE. Probably the shortest match I've ever been in since it literally had just started. I wish I noticed his loadout because whatever he hit me with totally destroyed my Marauder in two (TWO) hits. And no, I did not strip away any armor and in fact I gave my mech some endo steel internals. It's moments like this where I simply have to stop playing and just take a breather because, frankly, it's a demotivator. :(

I assume the Vulture was running an SRM build+Artemis, and just got extremely lucky with spread. Running an XL in that one? Also, I for one love the Marauder. Easily the most fun mech I've driven so far in MW:O for me, since it fits everything I want in a mech. It can be a ballistic mech, it can be a missileboat, and it can be a scrub wub cannon.

I ran in to something similar in a Marauder I was working on and whatever it was that hit me 1 shotted me. He literally tore through my armor which maybe was down to 98% and that was in the CT. Blew my engine out from the front.

Probably. It happened all so fast and honestly I'll admit I was shocked after the first hit because I noticed my core was like deep yellow/orange at that point. And it's not like the guy hit me from behind either (where you'd think the armor is weakest). And after the second hit, it was all over. Yeah, I was running with an XL but I've never run into this issue brawling with other mechs. To die in two hits? Wow.. I had to respect that guy; he definitely schooled me lol.

Exactly. Were you running the 3R variant by any chance? Because that's the Marauder that I was using when I ran into that issue that I posted above..

No, the 5M. Running the same build that I run on my BH2 (give or take placements)

Anyone else getting legged a lot? I started with the same armour balance I use with other heavies, and found this thing getting smacked in the legs all the time, I've lost a few legs and even died to it once or twice. I can't remember the last time I got legged in anything else above light, so this came as quite a shock! I'm guessing that big round hip is all leg, and it's right up under the chin - easy to hit from the front, whether deliberately, or accidentally when aiming for torso perhaps? I've started putting as much leg armour as I can on all my MADs (and a bit less on the arms, as they rarely take heavy damage).

it's just that most competent ppl just leg the MAD because the torso is too tanky.

I compensate for this by maxing my legs and posting up in an area with cover if I'm going to be even partially stationary. Never been killed in a MAD via leg death.

I do have to say, as it stands this chassis is a pleasure to run.... especially once you elite them.
My favorite build thus far is

It's fast, tanky and you can bow apart lights with one well placed alpha.

Also had a lot of fun running this, but was a bit more challenging without JJ.
