I tinkered with this build over and over and over last night, trying to find something that worked for me. She twists damage well, and I was comfortable leaving the XL350 in it (had one from another mech) and now I'd hate to lose the speed I've gotten used to. The twin AC/5s are just awesome, hammering round after round in, with a fast refire rate, better than the AC/10 in basically every way except tons (DPS/ton favors the AC/5 though).

I started with 3 small lasers and they just did not fit; I needed to put more hurt downrange before the target got that close. I kept trying to dump the LRM20+A but found it more and more handy each drop, and when I dumped it I immediately wanted it back. 20 LRMs in a tight cluster actually hurt, and gives me some ability to hurt a target before getting close. Then I finally thought to just pull 3 of the heat sinks out of the engine, because this simply does not overheat, and that made room for 3 MLs (+AMS) and wow what a difference.

I've only been playing this game a week, and I did not like the Zeus at all when I got it from Resistance, but now I'm putting up 500 damage matches frequently with it!

There aren't many XL builds on here, and I may eventually drop a STD engine in this, but right now I'm really enjoying this fit.

From my experience a single LRM+A should always be a 15-sized one. The reduced reload time and weight are worth it. In addition to this, the ammo will last way longer. Regarding ammo, 2 tons of LRM ammo for a 20-sized launcher is more on the low side and barely sufficient if you're lasting in a PUG match. 120 rounds for the (mildly) quirked AC5s of this variant can be considered the minimum as well.

Here's my take on that one. Feel free to exchange the half-a-ton of AC ammo with a ton of LRM ammo at your need.

I'm not sure I'm following what you mean with the LRM20 v LRM15...

    LRM20: 4.81 dps, 3.33 dph, 1.44 hps, 20 dpv, 0.44 dps/ton, 0.80 dps/slot
    LRM15: 4.03 dps, 3.00 dph, 1.34 hps, 15 dpv, 0.50 dps/ton, 1.01 dps/slot

The LRM 20 generates more DPS and more DPH, plus has a bigger volley. The LRM15 is slightly less HPS, but I don't overheat, and a tad more efficient with the tons/slots, but again I can fit the LRM20 so it's not an issue to me.

While I might need more LRM20 ammo at some point, so far it's lasting me a whole match, and I'd drop the AMS if I decided I needed more ammo.

Thing is, so many missiles on the LRM20 will miss, that the launcher just isn't worth its weight.
