I run this mech with full elite efficiencies, so speed is real fast for an atlas.

With this mech, most enemies will flee after the first alpha hit and i nearly always alpha them. You can destroy light mechs with one shot and the rest will take just a little more punches before they're crushed. The 16 Heatsinks cool your atlas down quite fast. You can alpha strike three or four times before you shut down. No mech survives that.

I played this build the last 70 matches (some were 1000+ dmg, even one with 1300) and i have a kills/death and wins/losses ratio of 2. Which is really good for my skills. On my other builds i only have around 1.

    Normally matches go like this:
Follow your team so that no enemy gets in your back and when your team mates spread out, sniper like hell. Shutdowns happen but never are a real problem. Enemies approach, get hit by an alpha strike and always immediately take cover or flee, giving you time to cool down. Thats why i never got one in my back or to close for my ppcs. If there's more than one enemy attacking you, you can even stand some salvos, because of the mighty front armor(102 center and 64 shoulders).

I never lost an arm or leg. Gauss rifles survives most of the time. But also 4 ppc's will do some damage...

If an enemy got two of my alpha hits he normally dies very quickly by my next shot or by my team mates.

XL-Engine was no real problem but speed is a big advantage. In most games i only got some scratches. If i died it was mostly a destroyed center torso. As a sniper you can fight your enemy from a distance and don't get shot that much.

You can change one ppc for more heat sinks or switch to erppcs but i don't believe that it will be a real improvement.

Sorry for my english! I'm not a native speaker.

Your english is great man! Don't sweat it!

    Welcome to the forums.

This mech is a refreshing change to the Stalker chassis and looks like a beast with a 55 Alpha but wow it looks like you really need to pay attention to the heat scales!

Try swapping out 2 PPCs for 2 LLas and shave off about half a ton of armour. With the free tonnage, upgrade to an XL350 and max out your DHS. A slightly lower Alpha strike with less range, but heat efficiency is 36% vs. 26% and max. sustained DPS increases to 5.27. Also, moving your Gauss ammo to the right torso will decrease the chance of a critical hit striking the Gauss Rifle.

Thanks to your replies, Michael and watchman_17 !

I admit - as the title says - it's a build for an elite mech.

As long as you've no efficiencies unlocked, it's really better to run this mech with 3 ppcs and more heatsinks (i mastered that mech with 3 chain fire ppcs). But with both heat efficiencies unlocked and them being doubled by achieving all elite efficiencies this build is really playable.

As i said: normally you need one alpha strike to force an enemy to run away. If they see their armor after one hit, they run for cover and search themselves easier targets to shoot at. So normally you can make three enemies look for shelter till you overheat. Yes, after the third you overheat but power up nearly immediately with the elite efficiency "Quick ignition".

If you're overheated it takes only a short time, while you can be shot by enemies that will flee aswell after the next alpha strike 3 seconds later. My front armor can handle that. And: normally enemies don't get to close. So they have to fight my Team members in close combat.

With 2 large laser damage spreads over the torso and moving targets in the distance (sniper build!) will need to aim differently. You must target with the slower ppcs and your gauss rifle and then hit same spot with the lasers to achieve a similar effect.

I give the 2 Lasers a chance but i don't expect they will please me. But that depends on how one wants to play. Let's see...

You don't lose much in the way of heat efficiency by switching over to an XL350 w/ Endo, and it lets you carry a lot of extra armor and Gauss ammo.

I also run this load out from time to time but with a STD300.

It's possible to get more DHS in there. Is it really necessary to have 30 ammo for the gauss when you can take potshots with the PPC's?
