Hey guys as MWO is supposed to be centered on squad/lance combat I found it appropriate to present for those interested this upcoming tactical squad based FPS game, made by several of the DEVs behind the Project Reality mod for Battelfield 2 In the same way as PR is (as its still kicking with several hundred players active on servers at any time) this game will be very clan friendly as organized play and coms make for the best game experience. (Full disclosure I'm a moderator on the PR forums for since 2007)
BTW guys what is your honest opinion on the Kickstarter page ? I'm all the more interested by those who didn't know or Project reality and what this game was about. From a quick glance does it convey enough information about the planned game ? enough visuals to have an idea how it'll look like and play ?
Had a look, seemed decent. Only two problems were it didn't really seem to differentiate itself enough in the video from quite a few of the other FPS modern shooters I've tried. There was one reference really to "deployables" in the comments section and several grandiose claims about teamwork (doesn't every game like Arma III rely on teamwork to win consistently so what makes Team different?). I will admit I did rather wonder why I'd want to spend the time building a base and tying myself to a location when a single sniper bullet will kill me from a km away but that's a problem for all similar games and perhaps I was in too sceptical a mode as I was looking to critique it. The backer site itself did a nice job concentrating and explaining things however. that brings me to the second problem I saw - no real differentiation between the backer levels. I get you're trying not to give an in game advantage but why would I ever want to pay over the $30 (or $70 mark if I wanted closed alpha access)?
Thanks for the feedback. Well base building helps as they usually help to protect FOB (forward operating base) which built by the players and serve as spawn points as well as ammo points. And indeed for people to get a better idea that its not just about infantry slinging bullets at each other in small quarters, they should show off what they did with Project reality :
@Saobh, what were your nick in PR? Clantag? Wondering if I recognize you... I'm part of a ten pack for the kickstarter btw.
kinda simple [R-MOD]Saobh on their forums as I'm part of the moderation team but was part of the command during the 1st 2 iterations of the official PR tournament (C1 & C2 won by the ARRC & NODFOR side ... us !) which started in 2006.

I was CATA staff, part of the Lost Platoon clan. Worked a lot with Huntermed & Bonsai. Went to the Bovington LAN in 2008 as a correspondent http://www.realitymod.com/forum/f11-off-topic-discussion/45959-bovington-lan-diary.html but unfortunately those links are dead. Still have the whole thing somewhere.
