I've always been a big Battlefleet Gothic fan and player on table top. The trailer looks really good, but like everything else GW and video game related, the trailers often lead to disappointment. However, it appears to all be in-game footage (I can hope) http://www.pcgamer.com/battlefleet-gothic-armada-teaser-reveals-massive-flying-castles-in-space/
I just hope that they don't screw it too much, Publisher is known from Wargame and Blood Bowl series but i never heard of the Dev team. Still drooling like a new born baby.
Battlefield gothic,... the typical over the top WH40K destruction in a space fleet setting. What is there not to love?!?
I would really like if it was more like Nexus The Jupiter Incident. In BFG each race had their own flavor and it would really be awesome if they could keep that in their game. I also wonder if they will be able to keep the importance of maneuvering as it was in tabletop, although this is supposed to be RTS so i doubt it.
Why cant they just convert the round based WH40K/WHFB Tabletop into a PC game (Including PVP and solo games against machine). This would be a instant-buy for me. It worked really well for blood bowl, why not for other game systems?
Because GW do not want to make a competition for it's own (tabletop) games, they want more people interested into it so they can sell figurines to them and make even more money. Bloodbowl, Battlefleet gothic, Mordheim, Space Hulk, Those are games that GW has marked as unprofitable from the tabletop point of view (niche games), so while they do not produce anything for them (I may be mistaken & I do not know if forge world does any new stuff for it) they still have rights to them, so if someone wants to make a game using it and gives them money, they take it. Currently there is so many WH40K games coming to Phones/tablets/PC's that i'm really concerned how many of them will be actually utter crap not worthwhile even the time it takes to install it on your electronic device not mentioning the money you are supposed to pay for them.
Yeah interested to see how Mordheim turns out as its another steam game I bought and have tragically never played.
Mordheim was a fun game really, sort of like the fantasy version . Can I drive the rock in Battlefleet Gothic? Used to be able to do that on tabletop.
Eldar and Dark Eldar have access to Harlequin No reason they couldn't reintroduce them, even to the 40K universe. After all, it's an opportunity for more models and more money for GW
