Competitive teams will try to leg mediums if the battle gets close, they're too good at torso twisting to reliably burn a torso. Better to divide damage between two components rather than six. Unless the mech already caught a major shot to a torso, which can be followed up on.

Hearing a lot of people on twitter be very complimentary to the 2N, so it looks like a solid mech on Day One. I didn't buy one (yet), but that sounds promising to me.
