This will be my first BNC-3E loadout. 10 heat neutral DPS and plenty of ammo with 4 MLs for close up finishing shots. Trading C.A.S.E. and 1 ton of ammo for AMS may be warranted, but I'll have to see.

doesn't seem to have enough armor in the arms.

As much as I agree about the armor, here is something more middle of the road for his use:

This is the build I went with after picking up a BNC-3E last night and it is one mean piece of work. I went with a STD340 engine though since I have a bunch lying around, and it saves enough weight for more armor and heatsinks.

Imho all Mechs with Speed < 80kph must have AMS nowadays. Dropping the Engine to 325 and you can load it:

I think this mech screams for speed and the compromise begins at the 325 mark.

Thats an awful lot of ammo with the rate of fire of AC5's. I've been using 8 tons and not run out in a battle, except at the end of a battle on alpine peaks when unable to take much cover, as with LRM's and the current high damage builds you can't stand and fire for sustained periods. Easy compromise would be drop a couple of tons for a DHS and more armour or one for more armour.

I think 300 is a good amount, I use 7t (210) on my shadowhawk which has 2x AC5. Granted, that one has jumpjets and the speed to dodge fire, while the banshee doesn't, but I've run out quite a few times (though LRM buff may change that). The extra ton of ammo is more useful than a DHS with heat neutral AC5s, though armour is probably a good idea indeed.

Possibly a play style thing as I've been finishing off a lot of mechs at close range with the extra punch of the medium lasers due to the necessity of hugging cover. That said I'm still using a 350 version for the extra speed and twist - just contemplating if I can face dropping it down to fit the AMS.

This is pretty close to how I run it and it's damn nice. The ammo of 300 shots may be a bit much if your team is good but if they are mediocre you will be glad of that extra ton. And AMS is not a bad thing these days on many a mech. Hell, I've started using two tons of AMS on a single AMS launcher and three on a dual with extended range (Jester build).

I prefer my version with more armor on the rear and arms, and with AMS... it's easy to run out of ammo... chain-fire AC/5 for continuous fire.

or this one with little more ammo and little less armor...

    Post-Cooldown-Modules-Update:

    My build:

"Actually ran out of ammo . . . just seconds before I died! ;)"

"5 Kills a piece, Abigail . . . I guess it was nice of us to leave two for our friends to claim. :p "

Hm, anyway, seriously considering dropping a DHS or two for some more ammo. I don't usually run out, but with that Cooldown Module, it really doesn't take all that long . . .
Might give this guy a try:

My own take on this one. BAP makes life so much easier.

I've seen this build in many places and that my I like, mostly because it takes advantage of the Bonus in AC5 + the ballistics. Do not think there's much to change (or, why I'll post it) but it works great, full armor and full destructive power. The AC5 break the structure and laser melting armor like butter.

Merged the thread by @Black Pearl with this, as they are identical in weaponry, with the only real difference being the engine size. :)
