    CTF-3D Smashaphract (AC20, UAC5, 3ML, JJ)
    Armour: 416, Speed 57.9kph (63.6kph Speed Tweek)
    Role: Brawler, Assault Support.
Fun PUG build that punches hard.

Good mech to run with the Assaults and Heavies to add solid damage to the brawl.
Pros: Hard Punch in a Tough package with 416 Armor and NO XL engine. Jump Jets for the odd cheeky AC20 popshot. Plenty of Ammo.
Cons: Just slower than stock heavies but easily fast enough to stay with the pack and get around on the big maps.

    Groups:
    1 AC20
    2 UAC5
    3 2x Arm mounted MLs
4 Left Torso ML (Although on cooler maps it can go with the AC20 to no ill effect)

The AC20 provides the pinpoint damage, and the Medium Lasers are a good alpha boost and are particulary helpfull when the lights come visiting. But as any Ultra junkie will tell you the best moments come when the UAC5 just keeps firing and you can smash the opposing Mech for 100+ Damage in 4 seconds with all weapons blazing.

I assume that the single JJ is used to make up for the 250's slow turn speed.

This guy is never going to dance like a ballerina, but the JJ does help a bit with turning agility.
I like a single jump jet for moving around the map quicker (up, down cliffs etc) and to shoot/see over low obstacles (especially the low walls on Tourmaline).
For me 1 ton of JJ adds alot of functionality and shrinks the map.

Thanks for the expanded description, it was the only thing missing in your 'mech's analysis.

This build looked interesting in light of the recent UAC5 buff, but the OP build seemed a bit slow so I thought I'd try and tweak it a bit.

I removed the external DHS and shaved some armour, mostly off the left arm, to fit a Std 270 engine. The left arm laser is also moved to the torso to make the left side of the mech a shield side:

By shaving the armour a bit further (0.5 tons) and dropping a ton of AC20 ammo, you could even go to a Std 280:

Nice one DarkLobster, hope it works for you.

Ive always found that this guy is fast enough with the Std250 and Jump Jets to be where he needs to be to deal out some Blunt Force Trauma. Still one of my favourite mechs and after 6 months the only change Ive made is to add CASE to his left Torso (lost .5 ton leg armour). The UAC5 buff has been a nice little bonus too.
