This is my second attempt at the 0000 after failing with a multiple LLas build. The quad energy and quad missile hardpoints are what makes this variant special, but heavy ballistics are a trademark of the KGC as well.

Essentially mounted on the mech's back the LRMs will rise above nearly every obstacle short of maybe walls directly in front of the mech. They allow for both indirect fire support as well as harassing the opponents when approaching the hot spot of a battle. As with the other variants, the high mounted MLas allow for a limited amount of ridge peeking, but mounting 4 of them makes quite a difference as well here.

One might think that this build's armament isn't suited for brawling, but the power of dual gauss in combination with the quick torso twist already teached humbleness to a lot of brave lights or mediums. Add in the quad MLas, essentially an additional AC20-like punch and you're fine for long and midrange engangements as well as short brawls.

I really love the King Crabby Crab. The high torso hardpoints are a huge selling point for me, and so is the ability to dual gauss. While generally I think the KGC should be more of a brawler, I've been messing around lately with "fast" versions. I really hate taking so long to reach the battlefield when your top speed is ~50kph, and I often find I don't arrive in time to help the team fight, or it is over before I get there.

So my first requirement when building this was TOP SPEED, which means a 360 engine. The second goal was something long range, so I chose gauss and LRM 5s. Long range made me feel comfortable about sticking an XL in there, as you'll be taking less damage than a brawler. 4x ML, because those hardpoints are too awesome to waste, and you need *something* to deal with those lights trying to nail your back.

Overall, this build has been treating me fairly well. My only complaint is that I sometimes run out of ammo before the match is over, but I'm not sure what I would drop to get more ammo.

    Thoughts? Suggestions? Comments?

This is my 'Scorpion' build but with an XL engine. The loadout is amazing for this variant and I am to change a detail yet.

I understand players who want to be the KGC as fast as possible, but I simply can't stand that XL in one of them.

On the one hand, the added twist speed adds to it's survivability, but on the other hand tjis twist speed means that - contrary to an Atlas for example - there is no need for a big engine for added agility

I agree that for KGC you don't need the giant engine for torso twist speed with those AMAZING quirks.. but I have found that too many times I am unable to contribute to a fight with a (STD) 300/325 engine as I am simply not there yet. I also think you might be underestimating the power of a faster "peek around a corner, fire, and duck back under cover" cycle with a faster engine.

I usually pilot lights and faster mediums, so my view here may be a bit distorted, but I find that speed saves my far more often than the survivability of a STD engine -- at least for builds that are not close range brawlers (and even then I think it is not a bad life choice). But that's just me :p

p.s. I don't know why I didn't see your scorpion build, I should have just posted to that thread instead of making another, lol.
