lol... hurry, upgrade to the top-tier $240 or $120 clan mech packages to get this limited mech! But no, don't, because you'll only have to pay $40 for the Urbanmech later to get all the limited mechs Yeah, there are going to be some pissed people out there that upgraded their clan packages to get the limited mechs.
If you see it like this, then everybody should be pissed when some hard earned mechs get 50% off due to special sells, etc.
True, but it's a little different because everyone knows that mechs go on sale. We didn't know if these "limited" mechs would ever be available again so it forces those who really wanted them to make the upgrade. What if someone spent $120 on Wave 1, then upgraded to the full $240 package? I get what you're saying, but pushing people to buy/upgrade packages for a "limited" reward is not comparable to a Hero sale imo. Don't get me wrong, the more free shit the better. But this one feels a little sleazy or backstabbing and it doesn't even affect me. idk... perhaps i'm just over-thinking it. Free stuff, YAAAAAY!
Yes I can. The Urbie is a joke. Don't get me wrong, I'm an Urbie fan and purchased the collector pack, but people shouldn't be drawn to buy a subpar mech for wrong reasons. There should be a warning on the order page, something like "this is a trash mech, the worst in the lore actually, but some love it so much we'll try to make it at least viable", not trying to make potential buyers believe their is great value on it.
Really don't understand that comment. It won't be a trash mech in all reality. A good 90%+ of the buyers don't want it to be a trash mech and clearly PGI listened. If you want a trash mech you'll have to make it so. It won't be great but then most of the new clan mechs aren't great either.
Hmmm, with the MC from last week and the stocking stuffer even, you could buy two Pirate Banes the next time they're on sale, and make the following dropdeck to farm cash in CW: LCT-PB LCT-PB KGB-000(L) KGB-000(L)
Yeap, the Urbie will be fine when it's configured correctly. The BNC-3E is considered one of the worst stock mechs in TT, yet in MWO it is one of the best with the right loadout.
I would pay the price of a top tier resistance set just to get the set off founders. And yes I had those mechs already, I just want the founders in the collection. Wishful thinking is that you can choose to get some colors/camo instead of mechs. But I don't think you get to gift them. (I am all for founders, or old limited edition colors)
That's an interesting context as I don't ever use my Founders mechs. I did use to enjoy the HBK and JNR though.
If I didn't know you, I'd use this to call out epic troll post... Interesting that you think this will ever be okay. Of course, you also like the ice ferret so...
But you have tonnage and hardpoints to work with, that's the difference. The Urbie has neither. Even with godlike quirks, you can't take advantage of them really and I foresee the 360 torso twist to cause mass confusion more often than benefit.
The Urbie will have hardpoints to work with, and enough tonnage to compete with other lights. It won't be a Jenner, but it will still be decent. I also don't think we should underestimate the 360 degree torso twist (432 degrees with Twist X!).
lol on the 2x basic twist! But it can't compete, though - IS lights go fast, clan lights can put on additional weapons and dhs because of the weight savings and non-xl deaths and go slower. The Urbie goes 107 (so bad IS light) and can't take many weapons (esp the ballistic tonnage handicap) or any of the clan light perks so... worst of both? Don't get me wrong, I ordered the $20 package, but I know what I'm in for and don't mind losing games in an epic fashion.
You do know that duels in the BattleTech universe, for example, a lot of times the duelists would use the worst possible mechs on hand? For various reasons... one being, potentially wasting a precious mech AND a pilot in those times meant a lot, it's not the equivalent of a pistol duel... it's like dueling with ships of the line. I'm pretty sure the Navy can't just throw away 80 cannons on some folly about honor. Furthermore. A lot of these duels would involve these mechs because they were difficult to pilot, or had difficult weapon systems, or a combination that conflicted with environment (heat/mobility etc). Thusly, just cuz something is the worst, under certain circumstances like this that was actually preffered cuz it would be easier to quantify results based on actual skill rather than firepower or luck. As far as actual battles, and combat... lol. UrbanMech gets shit on. I plan on piloting the fuck out of an Urban. Just to show people the power of Trash Can Man.
Oh but I'm with you Soy, I seriously intend to turn my Urbie into the terror of the battlefield. Just like you said it won't be great, only viable, and probably tricky to handle. 360° means the torso twist is infinite, twist X makes no sense then.
And Adders/Locusts (before they got popular). I just don't think it will be anywhere near as bad as in TT.
So 432 is 20% over infinity? Thanks for letting me know. I'm bound to pass my advanced algebra final now!
Just wait till Calculus 3, then differential equations, then all the physics-based/applied math classes like statics, dynamics, and elementary fluid mechanics!!
