This will be one of my first test builds moving back into the Warhawks in the pursuit of a build that syncs well in solo and group queue. Plenty of ammo for the primary close-range weapons: 4x SRM6s with Artemis. Decent amount of cooling for the cERPPC. My plan for this build is to Alpha first, then chainfire the SRM6s (or fire in groups of 2) to maintain DPS in a brawling situation. Then use the cERPPC when the heat is low enough and/or for the fishing blow on a mech. The beauty of having cERPPC is the ability to snipe targets at range with FLD damage, but not using up all of the WHKs precious crit slots (something that becomes an issue when trying to fit large ballistics like Gauss and UAC20/LBX20, not to mention the ammo required. Another benefit of the cERPPC is the ability to "fire-and-forget" allowing you to torso twist and spread incoming damage. Unlike the DWF, the WHK has a large engine rating and can torso twist rather fast just not at a large angle. Moving into combat, you want to twist and shield with both sides depending on what the situation demands. If you are going to stay at long range, obviously you will shield with your right side and risk losing some ammo and the 2 SRM6s. If you are closing fast, you can shield with your left and preserve the SRMs for the brawl as well as saving you the trouble of heat management. Even though this mech only has 2 weapon systems, it will probably require a lot of weapon groups for heat management and alpha control: 1) 2x cERPPC 2) 2x cERPPC chainfire 3) 2x SRM6 4) 2x SRM6 5) 4x SRM6 chainfire Will report feedback soon™
You could be right, I built it with 7 tons based on my experience with 3x SRM6 mediums going through 5 tons rather quickly. However the WHK is a large target and might not survive long enough to use all 7 tons. 6 tons might be the sweet-spot. Thank you for the suggestion, I rather like that idea! Could also drop Artemis to take another DHS and a TC4
Primary reason is convergence. It is easier to hit a target with both ERPPC if they are placed closely together.
