As I've posted previously, I'm not active on MWO, not yet anyway. In the meantime, I'm dedicating myself to learning as much as I can about the game so that I don't look like a complete and utter noob when I eventually sign up. One of the things I've noticed from my research is that many people do not use C.A.S.E to protect their mechs from ammo/Gauss Rifle explosions. I realise that critical slots are, well, critical, but surely sacrificing a couple to increase the survivability of your mech is worth it? Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.
If you're running an XL engine, CASE is useless. So if you see a build that has XL+CASE, it is wasting 0.5 or 1 ton and 1-2 crit slots.
As Scribs has said; if you are running XL go without the CASE. However, if you are using a Standard engine and loading Explosive Ammunition in your side torso's then CASE can mean the difference between life and death. I only own two 'mechs that don't run XL Engines so I'm sure there are others who undrstand it better than I do. Myth.
Hmm....? I suppose having the benefits of an XL engine and being able to protect it with C.A.S.E would be a bit unfair. Thanks for clearing that up guys.
