SCR-D "Set and Forget" (5x cSSRM6, 1x cERML, cBAP)

This is a variant of the 5x cSSRM6 version that is out there; Bird of Prey I believe it is called. By Flador. I believe that one uses a LLas or an ERLLas but it runs way too hot; especially when you are still working on elite/master status. I may have to go through and see if this was already posted and merge it but if not then viola. A cooler running splat machine.


You can really steal the kills on this one! I've lost a lot of my skills since taking a 6 month break from MWO but even with having lost the razors edge I can still do more than average in this thing. An elite player could probably work this thing easily in to the 1000 damage range.

Also, note the following conditions apply...
- NO modules/consumables of any kind
- ELITE only. Not mastered
- Pilot downgraded to average after 6 month hiatus

 

This build just reminds me how broken cSSRM is. Put a range module on it and you have a 400m 60 dmg homing light steamroller.

 

It's strong, but if you can't get a lock, you're screwed.

 

This is why this build is better with AP and TAG imo, instead of the ERMLAS. Less assists but much more effective when it matters (and shorter lock time is not to be undervalued, either).

 

Thats why you take cAP with you.

 

Still requires you to hold the crosshairs over the little bugger long enough for the lock to take. If they're playing ring around the Stormcrow, you may still be screwed.

I did 1k+ damage with a modification of this build. Twice.

It's exactly the build I did 1k+ damage (twice), including ammo placement, arm actuators and armor values.

 

I've been trying this build and lack of lock due to ECM is really hurting me. So is slow cycle time without modules and working through Basic.

 

I tried this...but maybe it's just my playstyle, but I could never make it work too well. Eventually switched to normal SRM30+A, and never looked back...had more ammo and never had to worry about getting hit by 2 ECMs at once If you're good with streaks though...

 

Agreed, with all the ECM running around, SRM 30+A is the way to go for me too. Too each one his taste though

 

I did include the cAP, but on a lot of maps I have problems finding a good lock-on situation. Maybe I'm just impatient?

That being said, I have some "good" games too with 400+ damage. I think getting this elited will be transformational. Early on, the agility just isn't there for PUG play.
