If the dual UAC5's pounding on their mech is not enough to scare them, the incoming missiles will. I've killed many brave souls who thought they could take me down with a few well placed snipes and ended up smoking corpses. Up close the 2 ML's and SRM6 help supplement the UAC5's, especially when you are in the middle of a jam. I recommend against running alone, enemy lances tend to run strait for me in this thing. No AMS and quite slow so don't run out into the open where you can be bombarded.
I just did a video breakdown on the UAC5 for MechSpecsTV How do you find running two of them on here? Ammo pig? Jam rate of 15% is too high? What is your feedback?
Definitely an ammo pig, but how rapidly it runs through the ammo really depends on how often it jams. I've run out of UAC5 ammo at the end of some matches but not without doing a lot of damage first. Jamming is less frequent with two, but there are still moments when you will double jam and have to wait. If you combine 3 UAC5's on a Jaegermech or a Illya you can chain-fire them without *any* jamming at all, or you can fire them together for devastating amounts of damage. I'll post my JM6-S build with 3UAC5's and 4ML's sometime soon, I've been a little worried about what would happen if I released that monster As for jamming in general, I think the jam rate makes it a very difficult weapon to use unless you have at least two UAC's running. Turning a corner and being unable to get off more than one shot the first time I pull the trigger can be the difference between life and death. I would rather it jammed based on how long you pulled the trigger or how high your heat was than just randomly.
I agree with that sentiment. The randomness is really annoying. My 3 UAC5 Ilya never jams, but the weapon is just weird. I'd want it to be more like a minigun - the longer you keep continually firing, the higher the chance that it jams, but it's reliable the first couple of shots.
