Figured id ask here before doing it...Im thinking of coming back to mwo because I keep hearing *gasp* good things about it...I left a month or 2 after the first clan packs delivered their mechs... So Is it worth it to re install the game at this point?
depends why you left. if you're expecting a different game play experience, the only thing is IS quirks
You could wait till Clan warfare comes out, but you might have a few mechs that PGI gave out, which include the CN9-AH, AS7-S, and soon, AKA the 16th of December, the King Crab.
I stopped playing around then too but I picked it back up in anticipation of the quirks and it's been fun. Srms work again (don't know exactly when they fixed them before or after this) and I've seen a lot more brawls break out but it depends on what your expecting and why you play. I love to brawl. For me life starts at 270m and only gets better the closer I get. I also solo a lot so it could be different in group que but it's been good in those areas for me. Your mileage may vary.
I dont actually remember why I stopped playing.....I mean I love to brawl and I fell in love with the clan mechs before I left (Though if the S variant atlas and king crab are comming out holly crap i may just have to jump into som IS) Hmmm anything I need to know? Mainly an assault pilot, like close range/brawling
Well the gameplay is somewhat better balanced, but the TTL is really short and a lot of matches involve a lot hide and peek for the first several minutes. UI is utterly terrible. Hit reg is mostly better, with a few exceptions (stuff still bounces off spiders). Overall I'd say its worth it to install it and try for yourself. Start the install before school/work and play when you get home.
You should already have the Atlas S and Centurion AH if you fulfilled the requirements when they gave them out. Assualts are still fun. Pulse lasers got a buff. I've been enjoying Sol's Wubshee a lot. The thunderwub (I know heavy) is a force to be reckoned with. Clan Nerf didn't seem to destroy them and most builds still work with minor adjustments. I don't think whale season will ever end.
Hey! I prefer to think of my dire wolf as gravationally challenged...unless we are in a 0g situation...then yes he is a bit chubby
Playing a "dakka"-direwolf feels like this: Not joking. Can't move but.. rain forest is gonna have a baaad time.
Haha daka gets borring to me....I tend to go with a build 2 ultra 20/4 ERLL/4 MG and it dose really well.
One thing to note is that the time to kill has really continued to drop, so mistakes are even more punishing now. The new quirk system means you can get a ton of damage added in mere seconds, so you have to play cautiously. Beware Firestarters, Dragon 1N's, and a few other IS mechs, or they will doom you fast
