Primary Configuration (Speed) This was the original build for the Cicada that I was using back in the day. It's great for dueling against Commando, Jenner, Raven, whatever speed tweakers. It is a little light on the armor and doesn't have any advanced sensor package but it's still great for slugging it out with the lighter guys and even some of the mediums. Alternate Configuration A (Heat + Armor + BAP) After Morgana's suggestion below I did some tweaking and came up with the Alternate Configuration A which allows for better heat management as well as more armor and BAP. You still have the same punch but your speed is reduced a little bit meaning you can't really duel with the Commando / Jenner speed freaks out there as much.
Basically was running the same build with the exception of using a lighter engine to fit in more Heatsinks. Has the punch of my Hunchy build, and still managable to run around buildings in River and Ice.
For this I would go - 3 on Group1 - 2 on Group2 - 5 on Group3 if I get a bead on that sweet spot in the CT(R)
I'm also running a build very similar to this, but for my groups: -3 on group 1 -2 on group 2 -5 on group 3 for alpha striking/sweet spot melting -5 on group 4 set to chain fire, when I'm running hot As the title suggests, this is a very fun brawler mech and I can usually come out of matches doing good amounts of damage. Great for taking out hardpoints too.
-5 on group 1 for alpha striking/sweet spot melting -5 on group 2 set to chain fire, when I'm running hot To be honest, I rarely bother with the chain fire group. If I'm circle strafing a mech, by the time I get back around to hit the rear center (sweet spot) to core, they've recycled. If not, well then use maneuverability to outwit and get back into groove.
However if you're in a circle of death situation sometimes it's nice to have a constant green beam on the enemy. At least in my experience, I don't always have the pleasure of being the fastest mech on the field/being able to always circle strafe the opponent. But, I also only have a standard 260 in my build, which could be part of the problem.
Updated this sheet and added an Alternate Configuration A to the loadout because it now uses different technology available in game.
Config. A looks like a much more efficient 'Mech. I think you made all the right choices and again I'm reminded that I need to include the Beagle Probe in more of my 'Mechs. Thanks, Myth.
I don't know what kind of crack Michael is on, but how the hell is an XL315 a 'speed' variant? If you can overheat that, I dunno what the heck you're doing that I'm not (You can fire for over 30 seconds straight and not overheat. On Frozen City/Night/Alpine I believe it's closer to _45_ seconds.) PS. This build is my record for damage in a match (1177) - and it was on caustic valley.
Lol Garth. Let me explain this for you with crayons..... Between the two variants of this build one is built for "speed" and one is not. The end.
Garth's variant is still better, XL315 variant in the OP has terribad armor on the legs and IMO too many heat sinks for just 5 ML. I'd run mine with DHS in the arms though for crit slot efficiency and critpadding: Or use the 3M's stock engine with BAP for both speed and ECM countering while still having leftover tonnage:
