PGI just updated the Raven-3L "Narc arm". It WAS a 1 tube launcher, NOW it is a 20 tube launcher so it can be used for better missile builds. Slower, cooler, more ammo XL255 version
Funny I was thinking about the same thing, but have decided on going with SRM4 instead for better speed and accuracy. But I do understand how this would be painful up close.
Finally, something other than ER Larges on a 3L! Absolutely love this thing. I run mine with +1/2 ton of ammo and an extra medium laser. Oh, and first post here. Hello all.
Nice one, Sol! With the new cooldown module for SRM's it's extra lethal in under 4 sec. Welcome, TJBear. Not sure that armor loss validates that extra half ton ammo. This Mech needs what little it has at the ranges it will fight at.
Most of the armor sacrificed on my build is on the face. Ravens don't suffer from giant head hitboxes like Jenners, so I find the armor cut to be justified. When I die, it's usually legs or torsos anyways. As for the extra half-ton of armor, I'm use to having at least 21 alphas for ammo reliant weapons. Personal preference.
My RVN reloaded testing in progress... Cool pursuit Alpha striker Universal, final version (+srm) Modules: MLas range, LLas cooldown etc.
I went with the build that has an ERLL and 2 x SRM4 above. I could not give up my long range laser for sniping, but at the same time like I like 2xSRM6 and only two weapon groups. meh.
idk, that thing is all over the place. The raven seems to lose legs like a lizard sheds off its tail when threatened.. the only way I can make this work is from far, far away.. and anything smaller than XL295 feels too sluggish
Agreed. The legs are pretty squishy, and as the 3L doesn't jump I feel like the extra speed is needed for repositioning. The lower punch of double SRM4 in comparison to double SRM6 is noticable for sure, but it's nearly made up by striking more often because of not getting legged.
absolutly loving this build! I'm using fx8230s build I just own the 3L Raven, havn't played it for ages and only ever used 2xERLL.....but this thing here is fun!
