First mech i've really built up, so i thought i'd share it

It's a really fun mech, and the AC10s do plenty of work through the hail of machine gun rounds. Medium lasers for back up, or for a little extra punch if you feel like it. She doesn't really overheat, but keep track of your ammo, in a big firefight i've ran out at the worst times, and atlas' love to see those big guns go quiet

    groups are Mguns 1, AC10s 2, and Mlas 3

Looks pretty good, I would exchange one ton of MG Ammo for another ton of Armor or AC/10 Ammo. Just a thought.

not a bad idea, i'll toy around with that 1 ton and see what fits best. two tons of MG ammo is definately enough lol

Maybe try decreasing the size of the engine. Maybe to a XL245, it does decrease the cooling efficiency and speed but you get more armour out of it. Nice choice on the FF armour though.

I have this build, but I run it with Endo Steel instead of FF, which freed up enough tonnage to give it 400 armours.

The problem simply lays especially in the arms, with the paper armour they can be shot off easily and then your main weapons are toast.

Played it a few rounds yesterday and had mixed results. I am not fully sure why but towards the end, I was getting more used to it. So definitely an interesting design which can lay down some pain.

i really like this one! my deviation of this build has a larger engine and less ammo, as i blow up fast with it but not before unleashing hell:

Since people have been trying MGs and asking me if they are worth using, i tried a build that utilizes them heavily. Its still work in progress, but so far it has been fun. Especially for fighting lights/meds this build is awesome. But it packs quite a punch vs everything.

Once you're in brawling range, just permafire everything until the enemy dies or you do.

Armor is at max for everything but the legs, if you get legged often, maybe switch around a little.
The 77kph with speed tweak are usually enough, but a brawler cant have enough speed ever. So feel free to drop ammo or anything and put in a bigger engine.

    *Update*

Currently running this loadout and after 3-4 half decent warmup matches i actually pulled my highest Jaeger score ever... still cant believe i did that with a just for fun built i slacked together to try MG's.

Ok, this thing is a machine. Most fun ive had in a long time. Could need some more Ammo though to break the 1k barrier, maybe swap out the AMS again.

    Hm...k...
that is a lot of ammo in 1 torso. And a pointless DHS in the torso IMHO.

I'll post my build when I get home

Yeah, this one is more like an alpha version. Didnt put much thought into it.

The headsink isnt really needed tbh. I put all of the ammo in the RT with a CASE, thought that'd be a good idea. Since the mech is dead anyway if he looses the RT.

Im thinking about putting in a STD engine as well, since this one is clearly a close range combatant.

Hi there, i only gave you 3 of 5 stars for this build, though i would give you 5 of 5 stars for the Weaponsetup!

The minus 2 stars are because of the sloppy way how you do setup the Build.

    1. Way too low Armor (at CT, Arms, Legs!!) for a Close Combat Brawl (isnt that the purpose of this weaponsetup?)
    2. All Ammo in Torso sides while using XL Engine!? You really want them to xplode faster, do you?
    3. Slow speed (if XL then go for at least more speed than stock!)
    4. Using FF instead Endo (is there a reason? -> NO!)
    5. 6000 Machinegun ammo and 90 AC/10 Ammo.. wth u are hoping to have very long epic fights, do you?

Here my version to fix all the above matters:

Fix the matters in your config and i give you more stars! Definitively! Because i love this weaponsetup and will try it out when ive bought the DD. I like the Idea of using MGs paired with Big ACs for punching big holes while seeking Crit Damage.

Full stars for this excellent build. Isnt it the same weaponsetup like the "Wirbelwind" build?

Your build is better balanced from the config and in my opinion one of the best for this Mech. Personally i would call this build "Can-Opener/Critseeker". Well done.

Alright! A build with screens to show success that USES MACHINE GUNS! :D

SO! Gex, what is your take on the MGs? Do you feel they do significant damage or are you mainly using them to get component destruction and cripple the enemy's weapons?

    (PS; great build)

Yes, youre right. Didnt see the Wirbelwind build when i overlooked the thread for similar ones.

Though, as you sated, "our" version of the build is a little more balanced than the Wirbelwind.

Yes, they actually do enough dmg to be worth it. The spread is crazy and you cant really focus special body parts, but even if half the shots hit where you wanted them to its enough. Plus they use no heat whatsoever. I definately like em better than most close range lasers because of that.

You gotta know how to move and position though, as you are a real brawler most of the time. Preferrably flank them or go behind em. Try to rush wounded enemies and get outta there before you get lynched, get a new position and think about your next move.

This is pretty much the exact build I've been using and loving.

It is my favorite and most reliable setup in the game.

Nice build. There is NO doubt it works amazingly well for you but would it work well for everyone? I can see my noob rear getting blasted and if I lose that torso even without an XL engine my mechs done for simply because 99% of my ammo is stored there. I went this way instead and was going to post it until I saw your build and decided to put it here instead. I have to say I agree with Vergere about the ammo.
You could easily trade out a ton of ammo for larger engine but knowing my luck it would be that 1 last bullet I didn't have that would finish them off ;) Probably why I carried 13 magazines in OIF/OEF come to think about it.

one of the best builds I've tried yet. I don't use the medium lasers, they distract me from properly leading moving targets with my AC10's. So I traded 'em for extra AC10 ammo, and haven't regretted it. I consistently pull in 400 damage per round, along with some of the highest single-round damage totals I've done in a jager.

The MGs are incredibly useful. I can use them against lights and assaults both with great success.

    BAD CHOICE FOR THE FF.

**Always use ES before FF. NO EXCEPTIONS.**
ES saves more tonnage for the same amount of slots. You do not get better armor for using FF. Forget about your daydream of roleplaying and use ES first, then FF on top of it if you have the slots and need extra tonnage.

Below is your almost EXACT SAME BUILD. I move your ammo around a bit but otherwise unchanged, except for ONE BIG THING.
*I changed your FF to ES. *
That give me TWO TONS of extra things I can do with your build. I choose to upgrade your armor by two tons, but you can choose to do otherwise.

I have been running this build, didn't realize it was up on here! Really effective, finding it lasts better than 3xac5s.

My personal take on it - I find that the small pulses complement the MG's nicely - essentially then you're still getting 6MG's along with the AC/10's...so that'll bump the sustained DPS to a little over 9... in tight it's pretty fearsome :D

I don't have a 270 but that's what's really called for here with 49 on the legs. Not really feelin the need to drop 4mil on it at the moment tho... and as usual I'm going with 15 on my backplates for this...
