I like how you use the jump jets to shoot over teammates who run in front of you. I do that on my Trebuchets a lot.
Definitely the highlight of the Highlander - I don't know how many times I have been in the Stalker and been yelling at team mates to "get out of here..." - the highlander jump jets is very helpful in this regards. Also - the XL works well in this variant if you are staying behind cover and only engaging as a group (and pray you are not primary target).
Yeah I hear you. My Dragons have enough speed to maneuver around people, but it still takes a bit to get shots off every once in a while (one reason why I've started using bigger ballistic weapons instead of the fast-shooters), but we had 2 stalkers and an atlas chasing someone through the tunnel in River City, and I couldn't get a shot off, being the rear Assault mech.
I can attest that Cattra has a strong grasp of situational awareness and often times compensates for his team mates actions in addition to his own. I, when running in a Raven or a Jenner, have never once been hit by a ER PPC or Gauss round from him even while zooming in to attack the same target. As to this mech build itself? It is tempting me sorely to purchase a Highlander Heavy Metal LOL I'm looking for an assault that is fun to play and this mech certainly has versatility.
Made a few small tweaks to be more like the Modified version by dropping some of the ammo to add Artemis, but retain the jump jets. You can drop the heat sink in the arm for additional leg armor at your discretion.
