It plays exactly like its name, what all the little Catapult A1s wanna be when they grow up. I use a cLRM10 Cooldown 5 module and Advanced Target Decay. I have 4 triggers set up 1 & 2 on a 3 cLRM chainfire cycle, 3 on all 6 chainfire, & 4 as an Alpha (which is unbasiced about a 75% heat scale.) If you chain fire all 6 it will quite literally create a continuous Rainbow of missles between you and your target. Quite beautiful if you have line of sight and a target in the open, just murders!!!! If they are using cover I generally fire 1 & 2 a little at a time. Very first match I got 3 kills and like 700 damage, had a cicada following me around who stole another 3 kills from me & a firestarter who I can't say he stole the kill but I did most the work on a 4th. Edit: traded a ton of ammo for a cAP, so lights cant shut down your targeting.
True... but A. It helps keep down on heat but also, I found chainfireing the 2 sets of 3 to be what I'm doing quite often. Since if they duck into cover a bunch of that continous stream is wasted shots. Throwing 3 sets of 20 lets you conserve ammo better. Also since it has no close weapons, I use them as close quater weapons in dumbfiring mode. With practice I've found I'm able to dumbfire missles quite effectively, clans with there flatter launch trajectory as well as the no minimum (after 90m you are doing close to half damage) makes it worth it. Similar to using 4 AC5 on a Jaeger or Cataphract was more than needed for a chainfire cycle, but it also let you have 2 guns on each side to fire together. More versatility in how you choose to use the weapon systems in all the different specific scenarios of combat is better than building for one type specific one, in my mind at least.
