This is essentially a mini AWS-9M Frontline tank, but with jump jets, and two weight classes lower. Obviously, that comes with some drawbacks, primarily being less armor and heat sinks, making it a second line mech, as most tanky mediums are. But it also means it moves a bit faster, has jump jets, and has a faster torso twisting rate and range. The only major difference between this Griffin, and the AWS-9M Frontline tank, is the AWS has 3 ML even when sticked, while the GFN will be weaponless.
Too slow. A standard engine in this mech should be at least a STD275, anything less is too slow and hurts your survivability. My first build worked with good success. Haven't died in it once, but I was playing with a good group of guys. I was averaging 2 kills and ~500 damage unbasic'd The 7 jumpjets are more personal preference. It can jump 40m up and shoot it's 2 Large Lasers to good effect.
For me this Weapon Combo looks best for the Sparky. But i would run it much faster and cooler, e.g. this: Just play a bit scout in the first half of the match, then wait till the bigger Guys go in, while you start dancing around the distracted enemies and Alphabeaming into their Torsos. 2-3 focused Strikes and Armor is gone for sure. I think the many JJs would make you deal much leg damage to yourself, so better traded for additional Cooling and Engine Size.
As I already posted in the release topic, if I were to mount an XL on this build I'd go BIG 4% cooling eff. is worth the amazing speed, without dropping (actually a tiny bit more) armor or JJs Sure it uses FF, but looks much more min/maxed to me !
