Hi there! with the upcoming laser nerf some people will want to explore different builds, as i saw a lot of similar builds i thought i'd try something new (at least i think it is) Here is my build for the nova I made this build because i like the idea of the nova, but i find there is a lack of variety, this is a strange build for strange people like me Updated version : Original defunct version :
Hi and welcome Check THIS THREAD about how to title builds' threads. I dropped 1/2 ton of armour in the head and 1/2 ton of MG ammo, cause, honestly, 2000 for a single MG is simply not worth it, 1000 bullets for each MG is enough in like 14 out of 15 battles, due to the really close range MG has. With the extra ton i upgraded the TC1 to TC2. I still feel the mech a little underpowered. Its a 2 weapons' carrier really, and both this long cooldowns. I would also drop the cLPLas to cERLLas to fit 2 cERMLas as backup weapons.
Thanks, to me your first one looks better, second one has more alpha for sure but the sustained damage of the first looks more appealing to me (with what this builds goal is that is), you are going to be with others to make full use of your ams and you won't be in the front either, rather than pure straight up damage would dealing a lot of damage over a long period be better? You are definetly right about the mg ammo tho  Taking your feedback into consideration i've come up with this instead : It takes the tc2 and less ammo, switches the large pulse for another er large laser for spare space to add in two small laser and two flamers to compliment the machine gun for moping up weakened enemies.
The flamers have even less range than the MGs. I wouldnt honestly drop 1 ton in them, cause i think thats too much weight for a so little help. Could work anyways, but the range is 100m or so, basically u need to hug in knife-range to use them, and i dont think the Nova have the profile to survive a run-to-enemy, cause its a big target. Its a big square in movement. Not sure u can really reach that close to anyone with ur arms still in.
Just because you have them doesn't mean you will walk up to the enemy.. It is there for use for situations where you want to finish an opponent as flamers can crit alongside the mg. This is a support mech via ams, fire support via erll's, yet to truly bring out the most of it, it must use whatever situation may come along to its advantage. Where you see "have to get into 100m range" i see "oh crap he is in my face, better flame him to overheat him for my assaults"/"that guys armor is gone but he could still do a lot of damage to my assaults, better shut him down from the side"
