Fang "Fiddler Crab" (1x SRM4, 3x MLas, 1x UAC 5 + 1 AC2, XL 300)

    note: This mech is essentially a DRG-1N except you trade one of the missile bays for an extra laser mount.

    I use both autocannons together at 600M or less range. The combination of both of them firing at the same time does a good job at sloughing armor off and timing causes rapid cockpit shake on your target. Even when your UAC5 is on jam timeout, you are still hitting them.

    I use SRM4+Artemis because I can get pinpoint accuracy with it at 270M. Together with the 3 ML's I can hurt or kill a light mech, without overheating so badly that I can't switch back to the autocannons. (and if they overheat, those autocannons will finish them off)

    My fang is fully mastered, I've never played this loadout without that advantage so it may be a more difficult build without the same pilot skills unlocked.

    note: I've wracked up 830 damage on this thing several times and been able to kill or drive away lights that don't have streak's. Your mileage may very.

    Good catch! Sometimes smurfy fails to compltely "max armor" even when it's the first thing I do on am empty mech. I've fixed in my smurfy now, it is accurate to my actual FANG in-game.

    Definitely going to try this one out!
    I'm not really convinced of Artemis efficiency on a single SRM4 (or my own skill to put the tighter spread to good use), probably going to swap it out for a ton extra AC2 ammo.

    I agree with SubjectSeven, even with Artemis the accuracy on an SRM 4 at any range is wanting. As shown in Michael's SRM + Artemis video; the missile hits are still random at best. If I could squeeze an SRM 6 in this I would prefer it over the SRM 4 with Artemis. Just a personal preference.

    SRM6 will incur additional heat and drain your limited ammo faster. If you want to drop Artemis I would go with Seven's idea of adding more ammo.
