My personal favorite 4SP. Couldn't think of any real clever name for it. Like most of my builds I count the pilots ability to self discipline into the heat. The MPLas I have grouped into left and right arm groups making them useful for shooting out from behind cover whether it be a building, mountain or Atlas. Carries plenty of ammo and the Artemis makes it all very fun to expend. Enjoy!
The self discipline on heat for that build is huge. Are you finding that the shorter duration on the beam is making that much of an impact?
Shorter beam duration and more damage. Totally worth it. Plus, you won't be engaging outside 200 meters anyway.
It's cooler running than some of my other builds. The MPLs aren't the primary weapon, it's the SRMs. Thats the weapon I worry about lining up so the MPLs I use as a secondary weapon. Since I have them grouped into two pairs of MPLs it's not hard to manage the heat. Once a mechs speed gets so high I consider it capable of a joust attack then scamper off to cool a moment. Since this should be escorting the heavy/assault core it shouldn't be difficult to use the attention your Atlas grabs for a moments cooling off. Of course if one wanted to nevernewb off into the middle of the enemy to be an army of one they shouldn't take this mech. Yes, I have always preferred closer range quick brawling. Everything is similarly ranged and considering that the role this mech should be taking up is escort the lack of range is irrelevant. Something step up on your Atlas? This jumps out and makes it step back. It's weapon load out is really great for softening targets or taking advantage of those already made tender.
This is the thread that finally got me to pony up for an XL255, so 5 Stars. This is my current SP build, which is a combination of this build and Mercutio's Abbadon
Wow, I guess a 255XL is next on my shopping list! Very much like both of those builds, will have to step away from my tried and true to check those out
You guys need Spiders if you don't have a 255 XL lying around. Not the best mech in the game...but probably the most fun.
AC20-Jagers eat Hunchbacks for breakfast, so look out for those things. Let somebody else distract them while you go in for the kill.
Those dual-AC20-Jagers eat many things for breakfast, anything not moving past 100mph (and those that are moving that fast would probably get one shot if they ever stop moving). Other than that though, This is quite a solid build. Oh, you can point blank a heavy mech if you are good at aiming (hmmm... catapults), just send them all to the cockpit and you will be able to kill it before you get killed. You can TRY doing that on a Jager... you can stay between its cannons if done right.
This thing has a HUGE amount of ammo! Normally I like your builds Zer0 but the XL in this thing makes it pretty weak. The STD in the Baller build allows for much longer survivability. Still, this is how I would tweak this one. As it is with 400 missiles (4 tons of SRM ammo) you will have 33.3 shots with those SRM6s. That is PLENTY!!! Up your speed a little bit and torso twist like a mofo to keep that XL safe! 3/5 from me.
Since the 8/20/13 patch that allowed Hunchies to use 275 rated engines, I decided to take a stab at a new build. Obviously, many people will find this build unpopular due to the XL engine. However, I think the increase in firepower switching to pulses, coupled with the speed boost, along with the new agility buffs, make it a worthwhile build. Let me know what you think
Well, normally I would not suggest the XL in a hunchback. But SP is slightly better at carrying the XL by being fast, so I will give this a try. I would suggest carrying the ammo in the legs and the CT though, since the arms can be blown off quite easily and you do not want the ammo explosion to migrate to your LT/RT. I would not put a TAG in the head since it will not do you any good, mind as well putting another Las there. Other than that, seems legit. I will test it when I finish leveling a KTO-18
Your ammo should be in your legs, unless you keep getting legged. Also, you only gain 4 fire power by switching to MPL, so they are not worth it IMHO.
