my idea from blagg's 'Diablo', with more brawling capabilities you run exactly the same build, but instead of 3x SRM4 you take in 3x SSRM2, AMS and BAP or you keep it without ams for some better cooling eff.
So Per Thiak's request here is the reason i rate this build with only three stars. After playing this mech for a few days and playing a few of the different build on this forum, i noticed that most mechs run extremely hot, and when your building a brawling build running hot is not desirable, especially if your next weapon fire could mean the difference between life and death, and over heating is insta death sentence in a brawler. secondly speed is a factor in this mech and i understand Battlemasters will never be nimble, a brawler needs to be able to make it to the fight and the bigger the engine th faster the twist to spread damage. So with this in mind i reworked the build for more speed and heat efficiency. The use of streaks in a brawl is not as attractive since the re-emergence of SRMs as a platform, especially with the number of ECM running around, and while BAP does work, ECM has a longer effective range to cause you to not lock-on, and BAP only negates one leave SSRMs ineffective against multiple ECM. This causes much of your firepower to be negated by a charging atlas with a fast spider dodging in and out. So by removing the streaks and putting in a SRM 6 with Artemis, you actually get better firepower, and the ability to fire them at that ECM. The Energy weapons were then moved again and 2 of the ML down graded to SL for weight and for heat while still providing a up close punch since most brawling is down around 100-300 meters. with the LPL placed inthe arms it allows for you mos powerful weapons to track a light so much better. This build reworked with this information in mind would be considered by me to be a 4.5 -5 star build due to the enhanced twisting of the larger engine, the time to get to battle with the speed, the heat efficiency, and the minimum hard counters to the lock on need of your weapons. I give you: Diablo MKIII
thanks for your answer, but still i would rather see your mech as subpar... throwing out 3 or less stars on many builds in 1 subforum is suspicious for me i for myself NEVER rate a mech i dont own, and i ALWAYS give a short answer to the build if i rate it, no matter how many stars as i'm sure other players will tell you as well, it is not all about the heatefficiency , maybe the mech with the build i created does not suit you at all... i run mechs which show below 30% heateff and did 1k+ dmg for me it is no way such a bad build i dont know you yet as you're new to this forum and dont know how many mechs you have in your bay, so maybe you should slow down with 'downratin' and adapt to this forum
My number of mech bays, time playing this game, and skill level not withstanding and having nothing to do with anything, ill just respond as saying a mech with a heat ratio of 1.12 is a bad mech. while you can down play heat eff in a ranged build, you can not in a brawler. I dont know when the last time you played was, but a while back a thing called ECM was introduced that made streaks next to pointless in a brawl, especially with the way ecm stack, so please bring your lock depend, hot, slow, brawl to the feild and stand infront of the team with an atlas and any other ecm mech and tell me how many alpha strikes you get out of that before the atlas full firepower rolls you. You asked for a honest assessment of your build an why i say its average, then attack me for it. Sorry i wont give your mech 5 stars cause you threw together a build that didnt take into account the battle field it plays on, or the synergy or needs of the type of mech you were designing. and lastly while a 30% heat eff is fine on some mechs, that doesnt translate to heat scale in the actual game. your 305 heat build on that mech in game is probably >1.3, where a 30% heat build on a energy and missle heavy mech is actuall
Rating builds mainly upon the Heat Efficiency Value and then posting a Suggestion, which has a lot lower (Alphastrike) Firepower (i don`t count SLas as serious Brawling Weapons so i substracted them), which is in my opinion not even Assault-worthy, and then saying that it is 4.5 - 5 Stars compared to the high Alphastrike Builds.. well, i don't know how serious the Ratings can be seen. But other Readers can judge themselves. Let's say you have to fight against an ECM.Mech. Ok, Streaks don't work well, but BAP should counter ECM, if it comes to 1v1. Besides Streaks work better against fast moving Lights than straight-forward SRMs. And you could always replace the set with Triple SRM4s if you like them more if you fear the enemy team has multiple ECM.Mechs sticking arse to arse to each other. Let`s look at DPS Values - Diablo MKII 4.60 sDPS vs Diablo MKIII 5.03 sDPS, a slight improvement, Diablo MKII mDPS 13.94 vs Diablo MKIII mDPS 13.23. Not a big Difference, even a bit worse! But keep in mind if you substract 2LPLas and 2MLas, you have left 2MLas + 3SSRM2 vs 2SLas + 1SRM6+A. Rangewise Diablo MKII beats MKIII, also Damagewise. Why load a single SRM6 in a Mech with three (!) Missile Slots? What a waste. Btw.. no serious Brawler-Pilot would ever load Small Lasers instead Mediums if he had the Hardpoints. Just my opinion, but i think many Players would agree. If it comes to Close Range and you are at high Heatlvl it is better to Alphastrike and quickly kill the opponent then strip him slowly with Small Lasers. Most times you have your buddies supporting you if you are not going solo somewhere around. Plus you have more Range for the Case you need. And honestly. The Heat Efficiency could be 25% if you had 10 Big Gunz, and it's still better for Brawling than 50+% while you only had 5 Gunz in your Pockets. Why? The 10 Gunz Guy could just use 5 Gunz vs 5 Gunz, but if it comes to need - he could add in the other 5 Gunz for a nasty Alphapunch right into your Face before he shuts down. Besides there is always the Option to Chainfire and firing in Weapon Groups.. So i don't get the Problem with Heat Efficiency Values. What counts more are the Numbers of Heatsinks to drop your Heat with a decent Speed. Loading Small Lasers and saying it's a 4.5 - 5 Stars Build ---> The best Joke of the Day for me. Plz post Diablo MKIII and let's see if people here would give it 4.5 - 5 Stars. I promise I won't rate it just to be fair. @Thiak Let him rate what he wants. As long as he doesn't 1Star Downrate the Builds without Comment, it's ok. Everybody has his opinion. 2-4 without Comments is acceptable imo. Only 1Star and 5 Star Ratings should be justified for Fairness & Reasoning. Other Players will try the builds and rate too. And if a build is worthy to be XY Rating, then the Average Score will show. Just need time to gather more Ratings.
I will not rate this build, simply because I will never run it to test it, but I will make my statements. In a practical view, streaks are, and will likely always be, bad, unless they make them seek the CT again. Any weapon that you cannot aim is unreliable at best. Second, the build is much too hot. I'm not even talking about the heat efficiency bar. I'm talking about in practice. 2 LPL, and 4 ML, would be enough on it's own to warrant removal of the streaks entirely in favor of heat sinks. Adding streaks not only takes up tonnage, but stacks more heat problems upon the ones you are already creating. In my opinion, for your build, the best option here would be to remove the streaks and BAP, upgrade the engine, and add heat sinks. On another note entirely, you could change the mindset of your build. Standard SRMs give a much higher alpha per ton. They are aimable, and much more reliable than streaks. SRMs are better than streaks for this reason, not even bringing ECM into the issue. As for energy weapons, the Medium laser has the highest DPS/Heat/Ton. You don't have to make it look fancy to give it good brawling. A mix of SRM + ML will give you an overall higher alpha, with better heat efficiency, and more weight leftover for a better engine, which in turn lets you roll and spread damage much better. This is the build I came up with, and it proves itself very well in the field. It has an 8 point higher alpha, 10% better cooling efficiency, leading to an entire point and change higher sustained dps, or two points higher in the case of your first posted build in this thread, and moves faster. The only downside being losing about 80m of range.
