What upcoming games are you looking extremely forward to?

We have a thread here for what other online games we play. Now let's talk about upcoming (maybe secret) tipps which are worth to try out (for the Moments MWO is frustrating and you want some diversion).

It's Baldur's Gate 3 (technically). If you liked Planescape Torment, Icewind Dale and Baldur's Gate, then you will get back great Memories with this Kickstarter Project!

So what Tipps do you have?

 

I'm waiting patiently for Torment: Tides of Numenera that I purchased in their Kickstarter a while back.



Haven't heard of Pillars of Eternity, tough I will definitely have to check it out.

Edit: I should point out that it is named Torment, since it is a spiritual successor (not a true sequel) to Planescape: Torment, and is being made by the many people from the original team.

 

There's a game I'm really looking forward to in pre-alpha called Mechwarrior Online....

Now that the obligatory MWO-joke has been made I guess I'll make a serious post. I'm really looking forward to Blood Bowl 2.



Also Blagg, the people who did the Enhanced Editions of Baldur's Gate 1&2 might be making an actual Baldur's Gate 3. But I'm not sure how I feel about that. The ending of Baldur's Gate 2 (after the expansions that is) was pretty final.

 

Checking it. That picture is wonderfull. Made me remember the cities that Lebbeus Woods inspired for Guild Wars 2. And i loved Lebbeus Woods works

Definitley also check Pillars of Eternity. Several members of the staff are from the Black Isle Team afaik. So in it's core, it is somehow a sequel of their great Infinity Engines Games from the past. Here is a Gameplay Demo:

I know i know, but still in pre-production. And don`t know if they can do a worthy sequel. I agree with you that the Story of Baldurs Gate 2 is pretty finalized. But that doesnt mean that some good authors can create a sequel with fresh ideas. There are always possibilities. E.g. the Hero you played in BG2 turned evil somehow, and in BG3 you play a new Hero Party to take the new Badass down.

 

Mount & Blade Bannerlord is the game i'm waiting for, but who nows how long it will take for it to be there^^

 

ow and there is this special project from the Makers of Borderlands 2.. I love both the LOL and Borderlands Universe.. And this here seems to become the perfect mix.

 

damn it. now I just bought into PoE. All I'm doing is buying games and never playing them. This kickstarter type of shit has to end as I buy buy buy and then wait 6 months-2 years for the game that I've forgotten about. For all I know, I might have already bought PoE under a different username.

 

This seems to have a lot of potential but I really don't like the art style. Fortunately, I'm the sort of gamer that is willing to completely overlook the art if the gameplay is good (there's a reason why I still pick up Pokemon Red from time to time; the art is childish but it is still a very solid JRPG).

For years I've been wondering why no one in the MOBA market has bothered to branch out into MMO-esque PVP. When I played WoW years ago I'd spend whole days just playing Warsong Gultch and Arathi Basin. Those are two very good game types that would translate well into the MOBA-esque market. So what if some characters are better at carrying the flag than others? It still takes teamwork to get them where they need to go.

I don't know... maybe I just want my Feral Druid PVP days back but don't want to pay a subscription fee. lol

 

Isn't MekTek involved with that?

By the way... Star Citizen. It is the game that I have always wanted to play

 

Already done a few times. Warhammer online assets were recycled into a moba-esque game which eventually died along with the original game. I liked the PVP in Neverwinter, but its too broken to be playable. Check Panzar, its a hybrid of mmo gameplay and few other things. Its quite repetitive after some time though. I think noone nailed the "mmo moba" gameplay yet though.

 

Also looking forward to this MOBA Game! Looks impressive to control a giant Space Battleship
