Hardpoints 6E, 3M - LA: 1E - LT: 2E, 3M - RT: 2E, 1AMS - RA: 1E Quirks: - Torso speed turn pitch & yaw -15% - External heat transfer -50% External heat transfer is said to mean the effect of ambient temperature on heat dissipation of the mech. This effectively means hot maps are cooler, cold maps are hotter.
Define, anyone, "external heat transfer"? If we are talking internal heat cooldown vs external factors such as water or map temp...? Edit: Aha.
I edited my original post. The consensus seems to refer to the effects of ambient temperature on the mech's cooling ability. Unknown whether that means heat sinks in the legs are affected. But its mostly irrelevant since it comes with DHS and no one in their right mind would downgrade.
I do not fear Mordor.... Still not sure why you'd want the mech as zero ballistics and no clan 2 slot dhs.... Odd mech for right after they revamp the Awesomes or am I missing something?
It means that external temperatures affect it half as much, so it doesn't heat up or cool down as fast due to hot/cood planets. And standing in water with heats sinks in the legs isn't as effecrive.
They're really failing hard with their heros lately. They don't have to be OP, but fuck, at least they have to make for unique builds.
I like the idea of the quirk (laserboat on TT is a lot more viable with that effect), but the hardpoints are definitely "meh" with the build choices there.
That hero spider tho http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=203&l=efc700f901dccd41403f27d8d61cdd9a7cae4b57
Oh, I didn't even see that one. See, THAT is what I think is an example for a good hero mech, as it offers hardpoint options that are not available in any other way for the chassis. Even the stock loadout is great, but just by losing some JJs you can add SRM 6 and more ammo instead... http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=203&l=ac9615344e7fd7df2ed56001a4ae33cdd786f8b9 No ECM, but like the Spider K, it's still strong enough to be capable in its own right. Or there's the super fast SRM4 version: http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=203&l=5bb62ae36eb21181d0e67017abf6064874d20e7c 160kph top speed with highest engine, that thing could be a nasty harasser.
OMG!?!?! Now that looks freaking TASTY! Here's my idea: http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=203&l=00d07e07d56540edc09b121737701ca2a6abcfb6
Wow thats embarassing I could have sworn they said "Champion" on the Patch Notes so my eyes glazed over and I ignored it as I have all the spiders....
No error on your part, it was "leaked" and probably not intended to be announced in the patch notes. Pretty silly muff-up
Placing only 1 or 2 JJ in a Spider is heressy!!!! Report at 3:00 Zulu at the middle of Terra Therma to be burnt in public, plz
I actually run both my Spiders and my Jenners with 1 JJ. You'd be surprised how well it still works Kit Fox is the same, though I keep more JJs on my Ember.
http://www.reddit.com/r/OutreachHPG/comments/2cvgy6/how_the_hellslinger_battlemaster_hero_external/ in case you were wondering how the trait works. most interesting part.. Frozen City is COLDER than outer space (HPG)... not sure how that is possible?
It's a common fallacy that space is cold. It can be, but only if not lit by anything like a sun. Earth's Moon for instance, has a day-night temperature range of 100K (-173C) at 'night' to ~400K (126C) in it's 'day', and little atmosphere to speak of. Technically, HPG is lit by 'daylight', so it probably should be hotter. On the Hellslinger, its been a few days and I've seen a few around. Anyone know if it's better than it looked, or is it a bad platform for a quirk like this one?
