This actually has me very excited and something that finally will make a bigger difference in some mechs. Centurion: +10% armour on left arm Dragon gains -5% cooldown rate for balistics -5% heat generated by balistic weapons +10% torso twist Awesome:-12.5% heat genearated by energy weapons 10% faster heat loss +17% ct front armor Hunchback: RT +10 internal structure We've already seen some of these quirks roll out, like on the 2 Shadow Hawk variants, but more are coming. Full Patch Notes here: http://mwomercs.com/game/patch-notes
Hmm looking at the dragon quirks and i think giving it the old hitboxes and increased internal structure for the ct would be better, but hey it's something. Especialy the Awesome quirks are great.
Still need to ditch the lower arm actuator on the Dragon's right arm. Although, this does bring the Dakka Dragon back.
Awesome buff is awesome. Glory to this glorious mech! It's unfortunately not enough, and far from enough. Original AC/2 DPS was 4, then it was 3.8, then the blasphemous April 12th patch lowered it to 3, and I realize I missed something because according to Smurfy's it's now 2.78 (all values without fast fire perk). -5% cool-down only bring it to 2.93, that's still ridiculously low.
Time to theory craft Awesome energy builds and crunch numbers! First off: Awesome Wubber. Heat efficiency should go from 43% to 53% (mastered) Overheat time from 13 seconds to 17 seconds. http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=14&l=f0789468aad1a757a14b87cf0cb03b90082b0fc5 Then a re-visit to Red Lightning Heat efficiency should go from 44% to 54% (mastered) Overheat time from 14 seconds to 19 seconds. http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=14&l=fd43e67052fe1c0fb7d2e8039600b9dc3071d556
There was a bunch of good stuff in this patch. - quirks at least help those mechs. - lrm impulse down 25%. - better fall damage speeds for lights/mediums - arm lock is back to the way it was (and keeping the way it is now for anyone preferring that) - I don't have SLI, but if it works, I'm sure that will make more than a few people happy - doubt the Elo lock for new players will matter to the MM - we'll see if the server fix helps out the 1 out of 6 games my game just freezes and mechs just shuffle and I pray that I don't die before it fixes itself 20 seconds later. - module slot changes are dumb and I'm still not sure I'll even buy any weapon ones. Without speaking to how they actually divvied these up per mech (which seems to have some very odd decisions attached to them), they should have also seriously slashed the cbill price of all of them so I'd actually buy a lot of them to equip in all my most played mechs instead of just rotating the 1 of each mech module I currently have. It's going to be a pain to rotate these if I actually do buy weapon mods.
2x AC5 maybe workable now. Awesome may be better, as it seems. Good on CN9 shield arms, and the Hunch though. oh and RIP JENNER K. The new module system fucked this mech up. It is officially a piece of shit now, less hardpoint with no bonus. They should give it an extra mech module slot, seriously. Basically all mech get their module slot reduced, sicne usually we use the mech modules and the weapon module are rarely used. Well at least now we can use whatever weapon modult we want without worrying. Definitely a ploy for people to use more consumables. Personally not a fan of using them since it reduces cbills income. And only FUCKING IDIOTS would buy consumables by MC. This change also screw over a few mech whose advantage would be more module slots. Jenner K is obvious cause there are definitely better alternatives, but things hit older heros too on top of a few others. On the flip side, the old 1 module mech actually got a boost.
I like this. Having the chassis stand out a bit more is a good thing in my book. Of course, I always thought they should have done it in the skill tree but, whatever. Maybe there will be negative quirks? That would be neat.
Quirks look good. The new module system blows. Is someone really excited about more Arty/Air Strikes? At least before you had to make a reasonable sacrifice to take them.
Most likely: Air strike, Cool Shot, Advanced Zoom, Seismic Sensor, Capture Acceleator, Main Weapon Proficiency, Secondary Weapon Proficiency. Now this is possible. EDIT: Rechecked. My bad. No mech has 3 mech module slots. But still nearly all have 6 module slots. http://mwomercs.com/forums/topic/166189-patch-notes-13307-29-jul-2014/
That is some serious awesome sauce on the Awesome. What is that, like a aggregate 20% or better heat loss for energy weapons?
m-my awesomes... I could just cry. I might even rebuy the 8Q now. EDIT: I did this. I own a bunch of Kit Fox weapons and no Clan mechs to put them on.
Um, I'm pretty sure there are a bunch that come with 2 MECH module slots. Once mastered, you unlock an additional MECH module slot for a total of 3.
It is. You can guestimate about a 10% overall heat efficiency change. If your smurfy link says 40%, it is now 50% as an example. This effectively makes the Awesome the coolest/fastest platform for 4 Large Lasers. http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=14&l=4fe5d5f980b251cada4cff00e44171d71387a1bf
S-sweet Jesus... I dropped one (1) match in my AWS-8T. Same build I've been using for a while, no consumables, no modules of any kind. http://i.imgur.com/y1YqsVb.jpg[/img] This is my first 1k+ game, after more than a year of MWO. EDIT: I came close to overheating, once, firing 4xML, 1x ERLLas, and LRM30 at a Catapult who was ~230m away.
FYI, to all those intending to test SLI. It was a slip-up and actually no SLI support was intended to be added in today's patch http://mwomercs.com/forums/topic/166200-sli-feedback-13307/page__view__findpost__p__3593904
I just checked my Illya (mastered) - had to give up one mech module.... Used to have adv. seismic, adv. zoom and radar deprivation - cant decide wich one has to go. Has anyone have tested the usefulness of the AC/5 module so far? I dont think i will get the ML module since im using these for brawling - how remarkable is the heat increase? oh, and I had to "strip mech -> modules" to get access to my modules which were in use before the patch.
