Poor Brazil. But yay for everyone else! Frankly, the 7-1 slaughter of Brazil's national team by ZE GERMANS was remarkable for any number of reasons. For me, however, I am amazed with how much the internet has embraced such a horrific performance in front of the world. I mean, seriously, these are just fucking awesome: Apparently people keep uploading the highlights to pornhub, haha. Feel free to add topical hilarity at your leisure. I like seeing how quickly and inventive people can be. Plus, I'm too bored to watch the news because it just isn't funny enough, especially about awful things.

I noticed him during the game. Showed him twice or thrice. The boy reminds me of the gif from Dumb & Dumber with the sad Jim Carrey we had here a while ago, but I can't find it. I'm still wondering if he's really not vomiting ...
Brazil did Nazi this coming. No, but seriously. I fucking hate Germany when it comes to soccer (I've watched basically every game at the Cup, I'm a sports guy I watch it year round), and that has nothing to do with our loss to them (which looks good in retrospect). They are the one team I didn't want to see winning it. I had them losing to Brazil in the semis on my pre-tourny bracket, but whatever, I just simply hope it comes down to the Dutch finally getting a championship or Messi getting one. If Germany wins this WCup I won't even be able to play FIFA15 I'll be so fucking upset about it. Sick and tired of the Germans in pretty much everything in life; I don't even care about Brazil [not] winning, just fuck Germany. My favorite image so far from the tourny isn't a gif(!), it's this lulzy beauty: Anyways, my nightmare will not become reality. I will be playing FIFA15 cuz the the amazing trio of Robben RVP and youngster Depay will come thru for the Dutch and crush Die PoopsChaft... assuming they knock off Messi in *checks watch* 2 hours. The German squad is not even that good. I am not impressed by their fullbackless defense line of 4 (lol) CBs. I'm not impressed by Muller. I'm not impressed by Klose. The game with Brazil said more about Brazil being Silva-less in the back [and Neymarless in attack WHERE WAS BERNARD] than it said anything about Germany. Ok well, besides their lack of sportsmanship which is already known, I guess it can be said that Germany thrives in pressure, but besides that Löw can pick his nose and shove it up his ass, after he thanks Klinsmann for handing him his squad.
lol. Germans have bad sportsmanship compared to Brazil? You have zero credibility. I'll assume you actually know what you're talking about with soccer and say you're temporarily retarded after your team's complete lack of preparedness and embarrassing lack of play and it's affecting your judgment. Fine to not like them. But I am infinitely curious about the sportsmanship comparison since they take fewer dives and foul less than pretty much any team and the African/South American teams are seriously disgraceful when it comes to this.
I was actually thinking about the German sportsmanship comment more and I seriously can't think of anything unless it goes back to the 2006 WC Argentina game and it's been proven Argentina started it, so I'm at a complete loss.
Lt Sat - First off, Brazil isn't my team. The USMNT is. Second off, don't call me retarded or say I have zero credibility when I just stated I watch the sport all the time, probably more than any other sport (which is a lot). I dropped a nice handful of actual facts in my post. Don't attack me personally, I'll only say that once. Third, I never said the Brazilians are classy. Fourth - and most importantly - look at the scoreboard and then talk to me about sportsmanship. The fact that this hasn't hit you yet speaks volumes more than any amusing retort I can anticipate.
All good Michael, I can handle myself - especially in a sports discussion - I think Lt Sat can too, we're both big girls! And yes, very pretty!
That Klose isn't a good player i have to agree with, but he has some magic luck to stand at the correct places to stumble a goal . Still can't see how germany should be unsportmanish, we do less fouls than the most other teams, don't try to injure the enemy top player, less shirt grabbing, than many other teams. But maybe i'm biased with that as a german, so help me to see it from your point of view by giving some examples hear:.
Klose is a poacher from beyond the other dimension, a master class finisher with incredible positional awareness. Plus he's 36 so everything else he's done well has faded, except those two things, so it's not like he's blowing peoples minds these days. Just keeps plugging along. I'm very impressed when talking about his entire career, but I'm not over the moon regarding his 2014 WC performance. Given the fact that it was the biggest blowout ever in the history of the World Cup for a host, I tend to think they were putting Brazil to the fire in that game. Uncool. Were they trying to make Brazilians kill themselves in the 2nd half? Few cups ago the Germans pissed on the Saudi Arabians like 8 zillion to negative twelve, so there's a precedent set that they run up scores. Yes, if you want to say it's a 'history of dominance' or whatever I won't argue, but my point is it can be seen as running up the score. Not exactly the most ethical, historically. Not exactly classy. Again, I'm not saying Brazil was classy or anything like this in this tourny. Nobody on the German squad, at this tourny, has shown individual flair and genius. All I've seen is a tight and cohesive unit. They are a machine. A boring machine. When the most dynamic player on your team is Lahm (who is still top notch), you aren't really showing anyone eye-popping football. It's just kinda... methodical... boring... look at Muller's goals man, were any of them on the level of Messi or Robben in this tourny? Maybe if Ozil was a few years younger he'd be that guy. As a fan, I want to see attractive soccer. You can say 7 goals is attractive, and team play is attractive, I won't disagree. But on one end, of this tourny, we've seen teams like Honduras and Greece that are brutal to watch. We've also seen teams like Colombia and Chile that were dazzling. Germany kinda sits right in the middle of that, in my opinion. Not the greatest spectacle, but also not ugly, they don't time waste much or anything like that, I really respected that about the German team after they went up on the US team that they didn't resort to bullshit. They didn't fall down and hold their buttocks like they got raped, or fake injuries, they let the US have a legit chance. That was the most classy thing I've seen them show in this tourny. Before the matchup with the US Low tried to say that the US had an advantage regarding the fact that MLS is currently in-season. What the fuck? I don't like the fact that Germany's statistics absorbed and includes the East German team's record as part of the German team's statistical record after reunification. I don't like that, I find it to be absolute bullshit. Also Boateng is a douche. I also wish Bayern hadn't snapped up Guardiola so we could've witnessed a dignified end of the reign at Barcelona, instead of watching that club blow itself up. I'm not even a fan of that club, just sayin. But that's whatever. Another thing is people trying to slag on Klinsmann as if he wasn't good enough for the Germans; he's a superior coach to Low, Low is winning with Klin's team. Klin built that squad the way it is playing, besides Gotze. Seen this exact shit before, for example Jon Gruden with Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2002 after Tony Dungy set that team up. Gruden won with that team, barely changing anything tactically or lineup-wise, and then never did a god damn thing again. He fucked up the team quickly after that season and Dungy went on to the Colts and when given long term security, was consistently putting out a winning team. Kinda ridik for people to dump on Klinny as a result of Germany's success, can't have it both ways... he doesn't hold teams back, he revolutionizes them by establishing a positive team vision and instills a winning attitude. Low's been running with that as far as he can (which is quite far). He did it there and he's doing it here, more or less. Even if the US falls short of a Quarterfinals in 18, he'll have done more to transform the US team's mentality and put the sport in a better position than any other coach, even Arena in 02.
Like em or hate em. Still 7:1 in a Semi-Finals Game is something historical in the FIFA World Cup Tournamentship, which will last for all time in our heads. No other Team has succeeded this result till now. So i give them my respect for it. Be it Luck or masterful Technique. In the End it`s 7:1. Try to beat that in the future. I guess, this won`t happen very soon. The Germans maybe don`t have great spectacular Star-Players making all awesome shows like Ronaldo (Brazil) in the last decades. But they have the unit discipline to stand against their enemies and the coordination to use the weakpoints of the enemy defense. Teamplay is their Power, and that`s all that matters in a Teamoriented Game. Just like in MWO. Solo Star Players without good Teammanagement/-play will fail usually. Just like in MWO. I'm very very excited to see the Final Battle against their long time rival Argentinia. It will be a Revenge Battle, because Argentinia lost soo many games in the past (especially the Final Battle in 1990 where i won a Bet as a kiddo who would be the Winner pre-tournament-begin haha). They will give everything to beat the s**t out of the Germans. I'm still making my bet on Germany (as I already did before the Tournament began, because remembering their epic games in 2010 vs England, Argentinia & Uruguay and now the brutal 7:1 against Brazil). Even if you don`t like them (the recent Team), you should acknowledge their performance and success in the World Cups of 2010 & 2014. Even if they lose on Sunday against Argentinia, they already made epic Football History. p.s. I'm really feeling bad for Brazil. That was a Humiliation, a Rape in front of so many Viewers in the World. This Face-Slap will stay forever in their hearts. Poor Brazilians.
The mother of all ROFLSTOMPs. It wasn't because of exceptional German performance. It was simply an epic fail of the Brasilians. What annoyed me is the Brasilian goal in the 90th (!) minute because the German defence was already in party mode and basically blocked Neuer's LOS. That was just a lucky shot. And 0:7 would have been so much more awesome.
Well i like the german team for being more team than star focused and doing nice tactics. Well the match against brazil was in some way brutal, but going soft on them would just mean that you belittle them and have no respect for their skills. And to soy the most people in germany think klinsi is a good trainer and set our team on the right path and by Löw continiuing it you can see that he thinks so too. To the fact that we "absorbed" the statistics of the DDR happened to show that they are the same acknowledged to be germany as the rest of it. Finally to the fact that you think the german football is boring i enjoy a team playing together and performing great tactics (like the bait tactic for the 1-0 against brazil), instead of some "super-stars" who need to show off some nice looking tricks for things that could be done way simpler. So maybe our point of view differs in this regard Still couldn't see a proof to your claim of german unsportmanship in your first post, except the thing that Löw said the usa had an advantage for beeing in season (even thouh he didn't said an unfair advantage). But the us staff said some pretty wtf things too, like germany gets favored by the fifa for having a team camp closer to the stadium (while every team organized the camps themself and the locations of the matches where preinformed). Hmm btw somehow we changed from worldcup gifs to a discussion about what people like or don't like at this worldcup
Blagg - I must retort directly regarding your notion that "individualistic teams usually fail" first off, fuck no. See: LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Diego Maradona, etc. Individual skill and genius can elevate a team beyond their collective capabilities, as we see occuring right now in the World Cup ala our good friend Leo Messi. Without Messi, Argentina would be royally fucked in this tourny - Mascherano lording over the midfield and solid defense only gets you so far when cats like Aguero are busy looking down at the ground instead of stepping up. You see, a team can make a conscious effort to give individual players space to create and the rest of the team can build or play off of it. The best teams take the middle-of-the-road approach, in which they allow players to make their own mark on the game, while also playing together and sacrificing for each other. Note that it took Messi several years to adjust to this reality of the Argentina squad in comparison to his role with Barcelona. It doesn't matter if there is a selfish leader on the team or not, this is how the true great dynasties in sports do it - in some big moments, you need that star to take over. I'll say that if you cater too much to the individual at the cost of the team, then it all falls apart (see: Portugal this WCup). Mayestro - Regarding East Germany's stats included with Germany, lemme ask you this: if you made an alt account in MWO and started playing and then decided you wanted to go back to only playing your main account, should your alt account stats be added to your main account stats? Fuck. No. In fact, I don't think West Germany's stats should be included. I feel same way about USSR and Russia, particularly as it relates to Olympics statistics. Moving on... US team decided to have camp in Sao Paulo and thus wanted to basically hitchhike the galaxy with as many miles as that team racked up along the way, but the US is a big place so most of those guys are used to it. I just think the US team didn't have the gas in the tank after they made it out of the group stage to do much else. II was so impressed with our team's defense and particularly our spirit, I think Tim Howard embodied that and other nations took note of our grittiness. I had US losing to Belgium on pre-tourny bracket and I must say it was an honor losing to such a fine young squad as them - btw Axel Witsel is the greatest player of all in FIFA14. I've talked to some Germans who respect what Klins has done for the squad's vision, and I've talked to others who are very quick to dismiss anything he did. I'll add another image to this thread so we can keep it real... this is what Clint Dempsey's expression was right before kickoff of the US vs Ghana match, during the national anthem. The entire national anthem. He never dropped the thousand-yard death stare. It's important to note that this image was taken approximately 90 seconds before he scored his amazing sucker-punch goal... if this doesn't scream "I will choke a bitch out if I don't score with my first touch" then I don't know what does: Oh, and ps - Klose is Polish, straight up. Can't talk much about that since US team had 7(!?) German-American players, but it's whatever. I feel same way about this in principle as I do about the German stats from when they were 2 diff countries counting together now, I don't think this stuff is right, but it's really no big deal at all. I guess it's just a 'how far does this rabbit hole' type of thing, where does it end... look at that South Korean speed skater Victor Ahn who was literally BOUGHT by the Russians in the Sochi Olympics... 4 years ago, dude is competing for South Korea... 4 years later, he's competing for Russia... what the fuck is that shit? I'm not a huge stickler for provinciality, but I am a huge stickler for consistency... you were only born in one place, if you claim to be from somewhere else and want to represent it, that's fine, but you only get to do that shit once... and not halfway through your fucking career. Same shit applies to players who do the "U-21" etc. competitions and then switch national sides when some other country comes along making a case for their ancestry or w/e. It's bogus, not on a big deal, but to me it seems a slippery slope. I hijacked the fuck out of this thread.
1.) If anything, East Germany's stats should have been not included, as their state was discontinued. 2.) IIRC you can decide only once, for which country you'll play in football, no changes possible?
