The Shadowhawk is the do-anything medium chassis so it made sense to make a build that could handle every range from in your face to 1000 yard exchanges. Use the normal radar modules with this one. Only a slight modification on weapons is needed for each chassis variant if you're grinding XP. Instead of trying to be mini Victors with massive firepower you can support any group you are fighting with regardless of range. Just something a tiny bit different for those of us that remain in the Inner Sphere. hear:
I like the flexibility of the build, but there are some small issues in my view. First of all, the XL 315 is VERY unusual. I'd rather go for an XL320 (which comes with some nice mechs like the CDA-3M) or downgrade to the 300-sized one. The latter provides a sweet spot for the SHD, as any bigger engine massivly cuts on the possible weapon loadout. The additional speed provided won't make a big difference with such a build, though. This is what I did when looking at your build in Smurfy's: - replace XL 315 with an XL300 - replace ERLLas with an ERPPC - remove Artemis - add 2 DHS - add another JJ - relocate armor Result: You could stay with your original loadout, but I'd modify that one a bit as well:
Absolutely your modifications will probably be the best for you. With something like this there are infinite tweaks depending on your play style. For example about the engine comment I simply have another free account I made this on letting me buy whichever engine I liked. Not taking anything personal at all, to the contrary.
