Don't go far from the blob. use the C-ERLL to put out some damage until things get close, then find some friendly mechs to keep near, and help hit their target with everything you got.
Also, if there are any missiles comming in, head for where they are landing. may as well actually use the 4tons of anti-LRM gear!

are you seriously using live ammo for critpadding?

 

All Clan mechs come with a no ton, no crit C.A.S.E. in every slot with ammo. This is more common to do then you think.
