I don't know Basic; could be anything. Server error? Patching? Who knows. Hard to tell when the site is on the same servers as the game itself. I guess all anyone can say is "Stay Tuned"
Usually means they're bringing it down for maintenence followed by patching. Here's hoping it's not just a crash.

Patch has been officially delayed again. No timeframe posted, but assumed today. The website crash was indeed because of 500+ people spaming the announcement forums. Edit: Hi Everyone, We want to let you know that we have the patch ready, but with some thorough testing we have found a possible performance issue. This is being directly addressed by our engineers at this time. We do not want to release the patch and have performance degradation impact your experience. I just spam my email and wait for patch notes, and assume that it's not worth attempting to begin patching until around 2pm my local time... so I can proudly say that I had no part in bringing down MW:O. (Oh, hey, I noticed that announcement thread was locked... I wonder why? )
I may have had a hand in that. I need a meme for that lock. Is it sad that's my favorite forum post on MWO forums so far? Almost 600 posts and that's my favorite.
I don't know what is going on for sure to be honest; all I can say is that a certain someone is VERY unhappy that certain someones else fucked it all up. Stay tuned; I will update this as information flows in.
All I know is it's pretty big and it's pretty bad; whatever happened. I am getting jack squat which means they are in emergency response mode. The sky isn't falling yet, but prepare for QQ just in case.

I have a friend that has it patched up and is looking at everything new right now. DHS 1.5Million C-Bills but he's trying to see it what respects that cost is related. Edit: Yen Lo Wang looks good for non-founder mech owners. Edit2: I'm in. 1.5million is to purchase that upgrade for that particular mech. It's initial purchase cost. Configuring is at the top under Pilot skills. Kept all XP, GXP, sold mechs c-bills, YLW is 30% Cbill boost. Lot's of new stuff.
And I can close it! anyways, we'll see if they have to wipe the forums or not... My bet? It was Paul who deliberately mangled the servers because my Forum Power Level is Over 9,000
