Public announcement for those who don't know. All missile tubes, on all Trebs, are now MAXED! No matter how big a launcher you use, regardless of where you put it, it will always fire everything in one volley. This effectively makes the Trebuchet a faster option to running a Kintaro in almost all aspects.

The 5J (along with any other single LRM build) can run a LRM 20 properly now, in case you wanted that extra bit of power.

With 7M's NARC-only slot up'ed to 20, you can move the arm's LRM/SRM to the Left Torso for safety, as well as run one more LRM/SRM of your choice if you desire.

7K's right arm tubes are 20 and 15, but you can't fit two 20's on one arm anyways. Love to see if this change will save this odd-ball variant.

Added a forum post, but my original source was Smurfy itself. Anyone could have checked Smurfy in 5 seconds to confirm this post. People aren't THAT lazy.

I like the Trebs getting some attention but realistically you can't do more then two LRM20's on a 50 tonner. That is pushing it a lot as is, 20 tons only for the launchers. The Loup with four 20 tube assemblies is not going to work.

In canon lore, the Treb was a LRM platform so this is kinda ok. If a bit unrealistic overkill.

The thing is, with the tube upgrade both 7K and 7M can hold SRM4 and SRM6 normally instead of pissing out single shots from the NARC shittube.

Before that 7M basically use only 2 of the 3 missile hardpoints, unless you are running streaks.
7K is undergun already, and due to tubes you cannot run SRM properly in the old sizes.

So them upgrades are definitely more useful.

Here's a build with two versions that I'm considering.

Version 1, STD255 engine and shield side.

Version 2, XL300 but the LRM20 and TAG now sits in the same arm for max peekabo effect. No more shooting rocks.

Here's the Q's. Just how effective are these two ideas? Is a shieldside Treb viable? Is a LRM and TAG in the same arm good or bad (aside from the obvious re armor and how easy it is to loose a arm)?

Indeed. They didn't up the tubes because they WANTED you to run two 20's. All this really did was increase the options for underdog variants, as well as letting you run a single 20, opposed to two 10's. 20 in all slots is nothing more then a kind gesture, because they know doing it won't break the game.

As I said above, I really hope I get to see more 7K builds on the field, as well as JJ SRM 7M's whenever people feel that SRM are viable.

Well, maybe that would be handy when the MRM is out. If I remember right these things can go up to MRM30 or something.

And yes technically you can run LRM30 in a TBT, but, let's just say, there are better ways to die.

I forgot about those. *shudder* They go in intervals of 10. Though we won't get them for another 7 years.

Fun fact. The MRM 20 is the SAME WEIGHT as LRM 15. I think they're future proofing the Treb.

    Huh?
Whaaa . . . aaat did you just say? o_O

Who said it couldn't be done?! :p  :phear: :D ;) :)

But no, seriously, you are completely right, Lan: REALISTICALLY a Medium 'Mech should never carry more than an LRM40. But this one should CAN carry an LRM80 alpha with all tubes fired at once, which is obviously totally insane for a 'Mech of its size.

"Kids, don't try this at home. (Or at least, make sure your mom doesn't see it! Hehe.)" ;)
