This was my first Cataphract and still one of my favorites. The large lasers in the arm I group on chain for better heat management. The gauss carries plenty of ammo for liberal use and it has plenty of armor. No XL so better longevity if a gauss explosion doesn't leave you with 1 medium laser (weakness). I left the left arm bare as a shield. Not a lot to be hurt on that side so is handy to preserve your fire power on the right.

Interesting build, however I strongly recommend moving the gauss ammo from the legs to the RT to pad the crits around the rifle. Also, If anyone is feeling squirilly about putting Ferro on your mech, stripping the armor off of the shield arm saves enough tonnage to use the build without upgrading.

I was about to post almost this exact build when I came across your Regulator.

Since you shouldn't really be brawling too much with it I decided to use an XL engine and pack on the heatsinks.

The heat efficiency is great this way and lets you alpha your lasers a lot more, I rarely find myself having to chain fire. If you like you could drop a HS for an extra ton of Gauss ammo. I do find that I run out quite often with only 30 shots.

I had originally dreaded running this chassis to finish my Mastery but this build has made it my most played Cataphract.

Some nice damage results (even though I often get a little feisty and get myself killed).

Just tried your version and its quite nice not having to worry about the XL engine, but it certainly requires much more heat management.

Had a nice game on River City with it:
