Trying to decide which of these might work after changes to srms. Maybe all of them will do just fine. http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=154&l=8c9fef706e1d3e6e9e6a442d57ee029a20987b05 http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=153&l=f3311af827deb080b4de1980dfc52ce8b3207ebe http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=111&l=a78a6ae7c99d261b485c9f0840f2499e9e670202 Can swap out to std 275 w/dhs in each variant also. All other minor tweaks welcome.
And mine! That being said, of all SRM boat mediums here is my choice: http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=128&l=3c5acf3ae4b0b13fa455dc3015d0a4460597a3fc
Yeah, boating gives weapons a bad reputation... But I understand that a lot of people are just testing the weapon system. The best test, IMO, is making a balanced build and incorperating a decent amount of SRMs, like 3 SRM4s or 2 SRM6+A.
The SHD-2K will be able to have 3 SRM6 Artemis and still have 3 MLAS. Also all weapons are mounted high on the mech. I think I would choose the 2K w/Artemis
nothing wrong with boating, wer are supposed to build a deadly killing machine, and specialized ones are better! GRF-3M would be a better boat, but I prefer using the 2k Chassis also, it allows for some MLas action. Absolutely not. What I meant was, weapons get a bad rep. when boated. If everyone is doing it and it works, people complain about it. SRM boating will be hilarious fun though
All I can say is that it will be more useful. Oh even in the current situation they work quite well on large stompy targets, like an atlas.
Realizing that this is in the SHD subforum, I'm hearing anticipation over the STD engine quad srm4+mlas Griff...verine. Can't remember which, because lack of SRM viability has not necessitated differentiating the two chasses.
Unless they also nerf ballistics, PPCs and LRMs I doubt there will be a massive shift to SRMs. Only thing that will happen is now we will have a good close range weapon system.
Head over to this thread to read about SRM's pre patch and soon a comparison post patch. There is also a few interesting conclusions re current state and a bug involving too many explosions to be rendered simultaenously leading to too low damage for massed missiles. http://www.mechspecs.com/forum/index.php?topic=6477.0
