The idea behind this is budget/getting used to the chassis. So far, for me, it has been rather nice with heat, as long as you remember to be careful to not alpha/fire the MLs too quickly, and if you don't fire the ERPPC nonstop.

I am in the process of getting a new mouse, and I know most newer players generally have at most 3 buttons to use on their mouse, so I eliminated the bajillion weapon groups on the stock version.

I replaced the 2 flamers with ML, for some more direct damage, and I removed the SRM6, as I didn't see it to be too useful in this build. I feel like it's a waste of tonnage to have all that weight used up for just 1 missile weapon, although that could be residual "I am used to playing Kintaros/Catapult A1" over-saturation of missile hardpoints. The ERPPC does good pinpoint damage, and lets you hit at range, and the MGs are good for some crit seeking :)

I kept the STD260, and used the extra tonnage for Heat Sinks, the mech lasts pretty long in my experience, and I get around 500 damage each round. I know you play around with it and get more damage, but I am having luck with this for now, and I enjoy being able to constantly chain fire MLs and stay relatively cool.

If you see a way to better this setup, please let me know, keep in mind that I like the STD for survivability, at least with this build.

EDIT: I totally forgot to add the rest of the ammo. I apologize for those who read this earlier. Updating now.

A bit faster, and I replace the ERPPC with a PPC.

Yea, I was debating on doing both of those changes. After some more play testing, I didn't end up using that 2nd ton of MG ammo. Also, I suppose the MLs do plenty of damage within the 90m range. I"ll play around with PPC vs ERPPC though. Thanks for the suggestion! Although, with more speed, it wouldn't be as thunder thigh-y. :(

Taking into account some suggestions from people I made another version, adding a SSRM2 for a little extra help vs lights and as an alternative to enileph's more heat efficient build.

The biggest issue with this build (for me) is the addition of a 4th weapon group, which would make it a little difficult for those who prefer 3 or less. I'll keep playing around with this, to see how I can tidy up this build.

1 SSRM isn't really worth the weight you put in it! Keeping the DHS and firing your MLs more often at the legs of lights is a better light defense, I'd stick with Enileph's version.

Yea, after a few games, I agree completely. That SSRM didn't do much at all. I guess my Streaktaro builds made me overestimate the power of a SSRM (a single SSRM). I'm switching back to Enileph's version as well.

    Here's my take:

Replace the PPC with an ER Large, you lose a little damage but gain some heat efficiency and can keep the larger engine. I've also experimented with dropping a ton of AMS ammo for an extra heatsink.

    Why 0.81 tons left?
Scheme a few points of armor and give yourself another DHS. I don't think you need *4 TONS* of AMS ammo. Maybe 3 tons but definitely not 4. 2 tons of MG ammo may be nice, however.
I would also take away the BAP, and dunk the useless flamer.
    The modified build.

Yeah, I wound up dropping that flamer too. It was a nice touch at times, made heat balancing a bit easier, but that extra medium definitely helps a bit, even though one has to watch the heat a bit more. The 0.81 tons was just how things wound up when I finished playing around, couldn't find anything extra to add & wanted to stick with max armor just because.

AMS and MG ammo amounts are something I've always been unsure about, seems like I always have more than enough or too little.

BAP is kind of a personal thing I guess. I try to add it on most chassis if I have the extra weight based on suggestions from other users for the benefits of quicker target acquisition. I'll have to make a few runs with and without to see which works best.
