What would the next Hero mech be? What do you think? I know they are not going to to the Phoenix Mech yet so here are the choices: Light: Spider - last one is a light, so maybe next time. But missile variant would be great. Medium: Blackjack - I can only wish Trebuchet - given so many combination of hardpoints already, I wonder what they can do with this. Heavy: Quickdraw - really need this, since we have a somewhat redundant variant here. Ballistic maybe? What do you think? My guess is Quickdraw, we got a light last time, time to get something heavier.
Since they're not releasing new mech this month (and next month too?) I wish they provide a hero for all (non-phoenix) mechs that don't have one yet. If they tighten the release schedule they can release all 4 before the clan invasion. But maybe I'm dreaming. Anyway, I'd probably buy a Spider and a Blackjack (given the variant is inspiring) but I agree with you, I guess Quickdraw will come first.
Problem is I'm not sure I see the need for another heavy hero mech. It just seems too crowded already. Besides with a ballistics nerf incoming it may not be the best choice. Would prefer an interesting hero medium to grind c-bills as 3/3/3/3 is incoming shortly.
I'd love to see a Blackjack variant with missile arms. Think Locust 3S that can actually use all the missile hardpoints it has, maybe add in 2 JJ and an increased engine rating. 1X is pretty fast with 295, and that speed + jumpjets would be nerfed by having less direct fire weapons in arms.
From what I saw on NGNG's forums, PGI asked Phil to poll people and it looks like a missile variant Hero Blackjack is on the way. As much as I hate to say it, my money will be sailing their way.
I would LOVE to see a Blackjack hero come to the game, as that is undoubtedly my favorite Medium Chassis. Not so sure I like the idea of putting missiles in it, if that's really the plan, but we'll see. As announced any time you join their TS server, NGNG also have a new thread going to discuss/design builds for a Quickdraw hero. So there's a chance next month's hero may be a Quickdraw; but if not, and they do the BJ next month, my guess is we'll be getting a Quickdraw hero for the one after that.
[REMOVED BY ADMIN] BTT: On Sarna.net there is listed the BJ-2 with the following Loadout: Would be an interesting Variant for the Champion.
That BJ-2 looks delicious, though it'll have to take this on: http://www.mechspecs.com/forum/index.php?topic=4065.msg39949#new 105-110kph, jumpjets, lasers in arms :x It needs 2 more energy or ballistic hardpoints for ML or MG. (or LBX10 in some weird buils)
No more politics in this thread. A little OT is fine but going off the map entirely is not. If you wish to continue the "shit storm" you may do so here: http://www.mechspecs.com/forum/index.php?topic=6248.0
I hear and obey oh Mighty Grimm! My opinion not withstanding? The next hero mech will be a Quickdraw. It is a mech that doesn't get a lot of exposure and bringing a Hero variant out would certainly help bring it to the forefront.
 Missile Jack?
The BJ-2 upgrade of the Blackjack upgrades the 'Mech with two Diverse Optics Sunbeam ER Large Lasers and four Hovertec Streak SRM-2 launchers. This variant also upgrades the heat sinks to double strength versions.
2x Energy (LA+RA), 4x Missile (LA+RA), AMS, 2x JJ, Max Engine XL280. I would buy that in a half a heartbeat!! More info.
