Recently PGI removed the sliders in your configuration settings, when on certain maps, so that you can not adjust your gamma and brightness on River City Night. This hasn't stopped the more industrious people from continuing to be able to flip their night vision mode to "Ultra Awesome Hax0r" (Technically, it isn't hacking so it can be posted here). BEHOLD!!! The work around that all the Comp players are using.... This turns your River City Night in to River City Ha-Ha-I-Can-Still-See-You Unfortunately all the screenshots I tried to grab to show you BEFORE and AFTER didn't turn out properly. Why? Because, due to the hardware control, MWO screen caps only show what the game is putting out and not what your hardware is doing with it. I even tried to use FRAPs but that did the same thing. Just try it out and you will see what I mean. nVidia users this control panel setting, once set up, is easy peasy to switch back and forth between. Just click the button "Other applications control colour settings...." or "Use nVidia settings...." and viola you are back and forth from daylight mode.
I hate River City Night, and I will use this to make things better. Did I say I hate River City Night?
Hail, I just tried this and instantly noticed the Red locks turn Pink and Blue turn Green. Always wondered how those game captures had those colours. Seyla,
Dude, this rocks!!! I should have known to do this before! I guess I got naive for a moment thinking the playing field was now level with those sliders not working on night maps. Silly Bob!
boo to this. I hate getting gauss'd/erppc'd when i can see 0.0% of the mech doing the firing. I understand you guys doing this though to get every edge possible
Hail, If I am getting pegged across the map I will now make this adjustment, hate to do it but it is obvious the Gauss Snipers use it. Seyla,
So - dumb question - is there a way to do this for AMD cards and Catalyst Control Center? I took a cursory look and couldn't find anything at first blush. Please tell me this is not something that only Nvidia people can do - that would stink....
two places: 1: your monitors may be able to do it already. Just change it on your monitor. 2: it is in your display settings, even the most simple video card have these things. 3: something something about issueing a trial of possession on Grimm's computer would help.
I was playing on notebook 1vs1 on spider vs atlas or river city night where I had mod on, I literally couldn't see past 300 meters even with night vision on, so as long as I gained range to use the ERLLAS I was just blind in H or N vision too, while I was out of ammo for the 4 MGs. It was painful to play like that and I lost  I was used to "cheat" settings and yeah...the DO make a HUGE difference. PS : tried to change but I don't have those settings on my laptop, just 3D settings hear:
You could use a tool like http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Video-Tweak/Gamma-Control.shtml (this should not be considered a 3rd party software right?)
thanks anyway I realized it was because of nvidia optimus, so the screen settings are handled by the intel CPU, changing them works on games too even if the nvidia card runs them
Seems lame and unsporting to me. I'll continue to snipe you with gauss accross river city night as the game intended. Shame on you all
