Puts a lot of fire downrange. Heat isn't a huge problem unless you're firing the lasers on every cooldown.
Jamming only occurs if you use the "double tap" feature of the UAC/5. Even if you only fire on cooldown the rate of fire is still faster than a standard AC/5. I will double tap if I'm jump sniping or trying to hit something that's about to get away, as I'll have time for the jam to clear after and want the biggest burst possible.
I also came up with this very build... but on a Catapult K2 and felt it would work better on the Cataphract, with more manouverable arms. Glad to see that someone else thought so too. The heat management is rather easy: use the UAC/5's for long range and general use( 75 shots is a lot if you don't miss a lot )and use the ML's for in-close work. Trade off between the two and you'll almost never overheat. Here's my own version, using more HS; pull those to add in another ton( or even two )of UAC/5 ammo or JJ's: Love this build. Just watch your back for scouts, as the Cataphract can't twist anything like a Catapult to get at those pests.
I run a similar build, -1DHS, -1 AMS, -16pts of armour (on the legs of course) and ES. Allows me to stuff in the 340XL engine. Awesome striker, just wish it could jump higher. EDIT: At the very least, you can drop AMS for an XL325 if you add ES.
I like it. I used to run something on my own 3D. When you don't get jams you can ruin someone's day. Here's what I ran:
Ive dropped doing xl on this, since it tends to be a brawler style and i was dieing alot However, for it to be effective, u need to have your crosshair on the target a long time, making it VERY vulnerable to ppc or ac20 builds. But if u manage to get behind something, anything, u will kill it in a second. Its a fun thing to do when bored of ppcs here is the xl version but like i said its a lot more fragile:
I like this build, but dont know why you dont go for Endo. Here with even AMS and more Ammo: or with Standard Engine: Blagg
I've been trying out this build, among others, and it took me a few matches to wrap my head around having one UAC5 in an arm, and the other in a torso, which basically left me with having half my shots flying off in the wrong direction. Now that I've settled down a bit, this build is pretty brutal. Not on the level of an X4, but the huge increase in mobility makes up for the loss in pure DPS.
