This is not the best mech you'll find on these forums but since i had a lot of fun with this i thought i'd share it It carries 2 new Large Pulse Lasers (changed in February patch) I put them on there to test them out. After some time i really started to like those. The big problem with this mech is, of course, the XL in a HBK. You should be very careful when and what you engage you can't take much damage. On the other side, the torse twist of the HBK makes it ease to spread out some damage. This being a Grid Iron it needed the missile slot used, hence the SRM6 For the weapon groups i suggest the following: 1: 2x Large Pulse Laser 2: 2x Machine gun 3: SRM6
So you took out some ammo, removed artemis and went from srm6 to srm4 to put in 2 more heatsinks and a medium laser. Nice. I'd to have love some additional heatsinks. The mech runs kinda hot indeed.
LPL and SRM6 work well together - with heat being a problem, consider losing the MGs. Never a big fan of MGs - the continuous fire means that you are always facing your enemy... CT is always exposed. Yes, judicious use means only firing MGs at non-facing enemies, but, I prefer swapping out the MG for the ML and a heat sink.
Heat is not a problem with this build, it's the Range! You play it as in Hit&Run Style. The MGs are only for the extra Critkill Ability for situations where your targets have orange-red components and your mainweaponsystem is on Cooldowntime, while your Minidakkas still can shoot and try to crit.
