This is a build I just made up, I have not played any rounds with it yet, I set this one up like a sniper and spotter, it has an ER LLAS in each arm, and a TAG in the left arm, I only used the XL 160 engine because I could not afford the 170 at the time, So the top speed suffers a little bit, when I save up enough CBills, I will be fitting the XL170.

They are double heat sinks. His heat efficiency looks to be 38%. Most mechs I use run hotter than that. Should be a viable build.

I designed this one with poptart tactics in mind, pop up and take a shot or two before disappearing behind a mountain again, as for how it goes on the battlefield, as soon as I have a chance to use it, I will put up what happens.

Here's the optimized version I've been running:

Faster, more armor, better heat efficiency.

I bought the Knell just this weekend, it's not even elited but I've been getting good results:

    Rationale for this build:

IMHO in the current meta it's a must to carry at least one long-range weapon. You can't afford to sit and do nothing while the snipefest goes on between the big mechs, and going in for a quick strike is too risky. So while the assaults are battling it out, you use your mobility to flank and find a good angle to snipe. Strike two or three times, then before getting noticed, move to the next sniping spot. Even when they notice you, you're so small and fast at 600m that you're really hard to hit. I replaced one ERLL with a regular LL as two ERLLs was too hot.
As usual, never venture too far away from your team. If a Jenner or Cicada notices you, run back to your team immediately. Also be very wary of Streakhawks and the like. If you let any heavies/assaults get close, you're not paying enough attention.
Use the range of the ERLL to touch all enemies. It's not too hard to get 8+ assists, and with the hero bonus the CBills really pour in.
Sure other mechs like the RVN-3L can snipe much more efficiently, but with the Knell you'll probably earn more CBills on average.

    love this as a concept:
A few minor adjustments, just like with the 2xERLL rvn's or SDR's you can put both weapons in just 1 arm, giving you a shield arm, and better armour distribution - full leg armour for 1.
Also moving the DHS to the torso ( I understand your rational, but I don't think you really need to crit-pad - if you want to you can put a DHS in the arm with the weaps.

Personally I'd rather 2xERLL over ERLL+LL , keep at a distance and your still firing both weapons.

This is so slow. The raven equivalent runs at 150kph and is protected by ECM.

PS: we already have a "Moonsword" TDK (LLas+3MLas)

@verbosity: 2x ERLL is too hot for 10 double heat sinks. In hot maps you can just fire one ERLL a few times before overheating, at least without 2x basic skills. Maybe once I have elited it this will change.
Not sure why you wouldn't crit-pad, after all you don't have any other weapons.
I wouldn't shield-arm in a Commando, its paper-thin armor means you will lose one arm very easily. I often lose both. If it just happens that you lose the arm with the weapons first, you're useless.

@epikt: it's fast enough for a sniper, and with speed tweak, at 139kph it's not slow at all. The LL+3ML build has nothing to do with this one, you play that very differently, so you can't compare them. Also, I did mention that other mechs do this better. The advantage of the Knell if obviously its hero status, so you get more CBills (I have played the 2xERLL RVN-3L a lot so I know).
