Pro's; Fast Medium Effective in anti-light support role Ability to harass at range Con's; XL Engine No anti-ECM capabilities Potential ammo limitations (If shots are wasted) Rationale; Needed a mech which could support heavier mechs by keeping lights off their backs, while still retaining some firepower to play with the main targets Running a LL rather than PPC to allow more alphas, and easier tracking/precision versus lights JumpJets allow for superior mobility around the main fight, ensuring you can effectively harass those pesky lights. Notes; Don't get confused about which side of the enemy the SRM's come out of. This is *not* a light mech. It should not be used for scouting or capping unless an absolute last resort. Couldn't think of a good name at the time. Looks like it'll have to stay "as is" for now.
I love the Trebuchet 7M. Its my favourite Mech so far. And i like your build. I tried lots of builds and finally ended with a similar layout. I prefer the ER LargeLaser for even better long range support. And after the last patch I use SRM instead of SSRMS. They now give you a real punch in close combats against bigger Mechs. 2 x 6SRM is like mounting a AC20 on the Trebucht.
Harder... Faster... Better.... Stronger! It gives up the wicked heat efficiency of the original, but it makes up for it with speed and ECM countering. Jump in, jump out, ruin days and totally earn that Scumbug Streaker badge and wear it with pride!
I find I've been having a shocking terrible time with this build. I'm currently 11-24 with it, giving it the distinction of being my only losing mech (by a long shot!). This build makes it sort of a fringe fighter and light hunter with the speed, JJs, and streaks, but the mech is so goddam big that anything that fights with it is able to hit it all the time. This thing (for me) ust gets torn to pieces. I'm starting to think that this chassis is really meant to lob those LRMs in there with PPC backup and keep it's lanky ass away from the scary mechs out there.
