Good alternative brawler to the 4p variant (SRM's can blow unarmored parts clean off with a crit).
Manageable heat, I link my MLAS in two groups (Arms, Body). If you managed to get the free centurion during its giveaway you can rip the engine straight off of it to put on this mech.

Variant: Tweak the SRM 6's down to SRM 4's and put a beagle or AMS on while maximizing leg armor.

    Pro's:
    -Fast, 98kph with speed tweak.
-Thick armor, for a medium. Only a bit shaved off the legs.
-No XL dependancy, therefore not expensive and more surviveable.

    Con's:
-Usual loss of hunch leaves you with only 2 MLAS left.
-Low SRM ammo count means prolonged engagement will leave you with only your 6 MLAS.

If you have suggestions, by all means post them.

Working on this mech too atm. I am trying something very similar.

So far i have a couple of variants . They differ in the ammount of ammo, the ammount of heatsinks, size of the srm launchers and the engine size.

The basic idea is the same every time. 6x Mlas + some Srms

    Std 275, 6x MLas, 2xSrm4(200ammo), 14 DHS
    Std260, 6x Mlas, 2xSrm4(300 ammo), 15 DHS
    Std260, 6x Mlas, 2xSrm6(200 ammo), 14 DHS
    Std250, 6x Mlas, 2xSrm6(300 ammo), 14 DHS

As i am moving through the basics i switch stuff in and out. Haven't settled on a definitive version yet. So far i like the top one (with the 275 engine) the most.

I find 13 DHS on that much laser weapons insufficient, for some reason it doesn't work for me. (has probably something to do with the lack of basic "skills")

I used this build and I realized that pro mech warriors will blow up that right shoulder or weaken it.

Aff, this would likely perform better in a balanced 4SP. Though there is a kind of mad fun to putting all your eggs in one basket...

The 4SP is in my opinion the best hunchback overall since it eliminates the glaring "One sided" weakness. The 4J can't really afford such a luxury: the slot layout makes it so that all your weapons are fitted to the one side, with only a medium laser allowed in the head..though one heavier energy weapon can be put into the left arm. I hardly think it will make a difference.

I am simply trying to make the most of a chassis within its design limitations. Being a faster standard engine medium allows you to play a semi scout role even if your weapons have been destroyed. I typically find this mech, as well as most/all mediums, are played best in a flank or support role.

That being said, for anyone still figuring out how this fit works: try letting your assault or heavy friend take the enemy head on, quickly slip behind the enemy mech with this fit, melt the rear armor to red or completely off, then toss the missiles in and see what happens.
