https://docs.google.com/document/d/1eONellWsrOGheNdibKKokYxqCth0Rx0nX08cerLMwnY/edit?usp=sharing This has been voted on by the Benefactors here at Mechspecs, and now I open the topic to everyone here. I am planning a document that we can all work on, and then present to IGP and PGI the Issues and Concerns we have with the MWO game, and the Reparations we need to see happen to be happy with the game. I have already set up a few topics, but a few more are needed. Please add all that you want to the document, but I will have to set a few ground rules.

No Personal Attacks
No Flame Wars or Hate Speech
This is not only for feedback, but for construction of ideas that should improve the game
No Ghost Mod's, Please post what you write here as well
I may need to add more, but I want to work on the document more. But in the end, nothing we do other than talk with them like friends will make them change the things we need to make this game better.
Regarding the top three problems mentioned: - I thought the premium time "loss" was a known bug and they fixed that with the hotfix? Or is there a separate issue I am unaware of? - Cursor bug... squash it, please. - Options, didn't they say that was in the works here? http://mwomercs.com/forums/topic/149171-technical-update-february/ I think we do need an eta on the options though.

Let me see if I get those two screen caps. The first one is showing that the 98 days of premium time has been activated. The second one is showing that there is no premium time at all? Then that should be fixed, yes. As for the link I shared... you're right. That's what I get for not reading the damn thread. It was mentioned in Paul's Project Update here - http://mwomercs.com/forums/topic/149182-project-update-feb-32014/ At the end of the UI 2.0 Release section he mentions that more options will be added, such as the ability to turn cockpit glass off. (I hope it does allow the adjustment of FOV as well.)
No, I didn't activate premium time, and I had 274 days saved. Now it shows that I can activate only 98 days, even if the counter shows a fat 0. I have the responses from PGI if you want to see them. But I won't post them here.
Thanks Vergere. By the way, basic rule of cooperating work: no ghost modification. When you write or modify something, please also post here the content of your modification, so it can eventually be discussed.
First, I think we should focus. If the document is supposed to list all the problems it will be to long and random. It should be something more general and point at directions, not at the dust behind the vase. Just like you wrote on the preface: "on issues we think to be key". Ultimately, it should be a 10ish points list. Also, I insist on something I already wrote when we talked about it in the subscribers subforum: "we [need to] have a strong consensus on the points we raise, so it's not a random list." Does did really deserve to be on top of the list? Two minor issues the devs already know (the "premium bug" was even noted in the patch note). Imho, this should not be on our list. And if it would, it should be at the end with some of "easy to fix small bugs". Do we? Really? I personally HATE to receive this kind of orders, and just make me want not to answer it. It also not gives me a good impression of who wrote it. I'd prefer to conceive this as an open letter, not expecting a formal answer (those are the worst and the most hypocritical) but simply a better game. Also, this should be removed or rewriten: Stop being elusively ironic, be constructive? "No Personal Attacks, No Flame Wars or Hate Speech", remember? edit: I corrected HSR for being "host state rewind", not "hit".
While I am not officially participating in this, I do agree with the above; this should be more of an open letter than list of demands. Maybe due to my advanced age, or my real life experiences, I think that phrasing some constructive feedback is a lot better than stern demands and veiled insults/jabs.
I was working on a general black n white menu layout, which is partially based on Hawken's current menu and League of Legends' client under the motto why invent the wheel again? If you want I can try to finish up a few screens that basically describe where everything is put and which information it gives. We really need a few more points about what we like in the game. For me that's the ability to customise the mechs and the gameplay, even though on some maps each game basically ends up the same (frozen city for example everyone rushes into the city). The core of the game is great. Even though each match is so similar, I have over 2600 games under my belt, that's how addictive this game is. However, the execution (UI2.0) and the end-game progression (promise of clan wars in June) need a lot of work. The new user interface is certainly flashy, but it is not user friendly. The main problem here is that the buttons you want to click are all over the screen and not properly labeled. For example the social button is very small and it took a long while to find it. Options and log-out are separated from the rest of the menu for no apparent reason. Purchase MC is a random button that belongs in the store; it’s not even besides the one thing it promotes, namely your MC balance. The design could and should be much better. A quick sketch could be included as an example. - Make the ‘menu’ more compact. Put Home, Mechlab (including mech progression), Profile (including player/pilot progression), Settings, Store and Exit in one side of the screen. This menu will be the way to navigate through the game's screens. For other things than navigation, a separate menu should pop-up next to it. - Enable social interaction while maintaining functionality of the client. The current social group invites and chats disable your client. Take an example from League of Legends where the social menu is just a bar at the bottom with pop-up screens. - The giant grid filled with engines/items/mechs is visually very loud. This will be replaced by a Smurfy-like mechlab in March. Please put the items in a list with a search/filter function, and disconnect that menu from the basic navigational functions as I described earlier.
First we need to define what the main points are. I've list few of them, maybe there are others, but remember it must be synthetic: 1/ user friendly experience. Especially toward new players who don't know anything about Battletech but though "oh, giant robots blasting each other must be cool" It includes better visualisation of the mech modification process, optimisation of navigation (less clicks), etc 2/ solid and trusty net-code It includes HSR issues and "invisible terrain" issues. 3/ intuitive game mechanics (same spirit as point 1, but focussed on in game mechanics) An example is our suggestion (which, iirc, was first posted by Soy - it be great if we find the original post) of an alternative "high alpha counter" mechanic, instead of the somehow arbitrary (yet sort of effective) "heat scaling penalty". 4/ ??? Indeed.
Okay, I didn't get that impression from the screen shots. I'm guessing that those responses are negative.
rephrasing will have to happen then. I think I can agree on what you think is better for this letter. Epikt, the UI joke was from late last night, and has been removed. Preface has been updated to be more constructive, and less demanding from PGI. Subject's Seven UI thoughts have been added to the UI section. Edited the Mechanics section to reflect the preface more.
If we're just going to copy-paste stuff into the document, we need a really thorough checkread, because non-UI things are mentioned in my comment, and it's directly after 'This part is devoted to the UI'. Also added another Mechlab-specific suggestion for the UI.
