Hi everyone, I was messing around in mechlab after playing some 90s mech games and came up with this. I haven't field tested it much but initial results look promising as I wanted to have 1 Highlander with multirange use (I have the 733C and 732 for brawling/poptarting). Sure, there are no large ballistic or energy weapons but I find that these weapon systems complement each other well. ("Quattrogusti" literally means 4 flavours). To throw off opponents, this is more lefthanded which is atypical for a Highlander and can still support with either side intact. I acknowledge that this build is not designed for 12 man competitions but it is fun and refreshing and the DPS output is great with easily manageable heat.
Hmmmm, i'm not convinced, though the dps numbers are impressive. You need Artemis IV for all big Missile Launchers. Personally i would drop the AC5 and replace the MLas with Double LLas. Makes Weaponmanagement easier and Risk of Ammo.Explosion lower.
Hmmm, I can see where you are coming from, and Arty is always helpful, but I don't think it makes up for the loss of the ballistic as I may as well use a Stalker which is much better suited to Energy/Missile builds.
But two LLas are better than a single AC5. And stalkers don't have JJs .. It's a different playstyle. But i know what u mean - it's somehow a waste not to use that ballistic hardpoint.
I hate that empty feeling I have when I see a highlander with no ballistic stuffed into its arm  It just feels too empty! Interesting build, but I don't have this variant xD
I ran this in a match for the first time last night. (been in testing grounds up until now due to ISP ) It was very fun and worked well on the front line. I will need to practice more as I missed a lot of shots
The Quattrogusti 2.0 Added artemis, upgraded the AC5 to an AC10, added BAP and swapped the SRMs for streaks.
Four different bullet speeds and target resolutions, arm and torso mounted weapons, this is one difficult build. Good luck, can't wait to see some new screenshots of how it does in combat. I'd simplify it to three weapon resolutions, IMHO.
I've never really considered putting streaks and LRMs on the same boat. It's a nice compliment. That sweet spot at 180-270m is probably a high overheat risk... but boy, that DPS. And with missiles coming in from two different directions, not even including your team mates, unless they have a dual AMS model, they're going to be hurting.
