Fun build. I find that my side torso's are not being hit as often as I expected. So some super pure dakka-dakka. Be sure to include Adv Zoom for some rapid fire sniper action and stay out of brawls.
It's not just fun build, its really viable and dangerous build, I made something similar and when u're carefull, you can do serious dmg. And another good thing is, u can deliver lot of dmg precisely and for long distance.
I like Burdin's build a bit more as I have an XL255 laying around and it will allow room for those JJs
I think I will drop the ML for 2 Jump Jets. I have an XL295 from a Raven, and I find speed really helps my survivability. Thanks for the suggestion!
Having the MLas is useful at times, I would arm-lock it and use it as a guiding system or for hitting lights like Locusts. But some JJ is definitely better. My version:
Alternative with more JJ, no ML (leave those lights to other people!), slightly bigger engine (also the more common XL 300), and 1 more heatsink. Edited to note that it's my recreation of xImpalerx's SHD-2H build. I'm not sure if it's 100% the same, but still gotta give credit where it's due!
Tried Burdin's build. The MLas was good as a back up or to help against lights. I like having it as a backup, but for the most part it was pretty useless. I will be trying your XL300 version tonight Corallein
SHD-2H with a 275XL... can keep 2 JJ, ML, 7T of AC2 ammo.... loses 5kpm off the original... but JJs are worth it Nathan...
I love the build, I'm running the same - sans FF. Dropped the engine size a little to compensate. However, I don't want to be limited to ONLY an AC/2 build on the 2H without changing armor type each build I run. Either way, killer build. It's crazy how fast AC/2s just SHRED mechs. They don't duck out of the way nearly as fast from AC/2s and they would from an AC/20 or PPCs. Their mistake.
LL build w/ an XL275. Pretty legit. As long as I manage my ammo (and brother do I ever), this is an long range beast. 500+ damages are pretty consistent.
First excuse me the "wood face" to post a build already much discussed and utilized (and very similar versions with this), but I was not 100% satisfied with any version. So I'll put my. The XL255 is too small and too heavy the XL295; think ideally the XL280: is fast enough and plenty of room for more ammo. Only 1x JJ is the enough (this is not a jump-sniper), is more to their mobility. Take 1x MLAs is not only for backup, but to cause more damage. And finally, 8 tons of ammunition (600 projectiles): is that I need massive amounts of ammo; my cannons have much hunger!!! A "uber" mechanism (the most versions with 3x AC2), certainly! Ty all...
I used to run 3xAC2 with extra DHS before the patch, but now I can't chew through 9t of ammo. This is basically the modification I made, XL300 speed is very nice compared to the 90 from XL280. This build still rules!
I run this with no ML and XL300. Works great. Stay back a bit and fire till you're too hot then reposition. Once I'm down to 100 rounds or so I try and place them carefully - usually the opposition is pretty beat up by then and you can provide the coup de grace. I don't use the ML version because I'm usually engaging at 400-500m and at that range it's really a green flashlight.
I run this with a DHS instead of MLAS. Great mobile suppression platform with quite decent dps at all ranges. 5/5
I run something similar to the OP: I really like having the 3 jumpjets to get myself into position for the triple AC2's.
You have way too little ammo for triple AC2. You deal 600 damage maximum in a game with that (single ML doesn't really account for anything) and that's assuming you hit every shot. I run double the ammo.
Honestly, I can often get near 500 damage on this thing and I die. I play pretty aggressively with this build, though. I see you don't use AMS so maybe I'll swap that out and play with some armor for extra ammo tonnage.
I can do games with 700 regularly. I like running in and killing stuff, but the very long range of the AC2 makes you a bit crazy if you do so.
