Mid Close Range combat specialist with the ability to zombie. Slower version below carries more ammo. You may swap around the ammo depending on your preference. I prefer the shotgun ammo more in this build. Tried an SRM6 edition, but I still think the SRM4 version is superior.
I can't rave about this build enough! This is my first delve into AC's and it has worked very, very well for me. I have a much better kill ratio in this than my -4P or SP. Only difference is I used a STD245 left over from a Jenner to save some $$$ and added more armor.
This is a very rewarding design to play with once you figure out how to play it. This is not a mech for a beginner. And you can end up going a long way as a zombie, I just won the match against a BJ because of it's ability. Very good heat management. If you overheat, you're probably running straight at the enemy, and will be dead soon anyway. Use your high bore axis on the SRM, LBX, and head laser to work hills. Keep firing the cannon for all it's worth. Save the SRM for the big targets then let them rip. 600 dmg rounds when you work it. You won't be number one, but it will be a damned good time.
Not bad! I've been struggling with my G.I. since I got it, this build was what I was looking for all along.
I ended up swapping the the SRM4 for a sixer by dropping the MedLas. Great build that essentially turns the Grid Iron into a double barrel shotgun!
I played with this setup for the first time last night and have to admit, not too shabby. It does a good deal of damage but at the same time this was a great sniper mech prior to this build. It's a play style preference, close or long, but all in all, if you are going short, this works out great.
