I use this beast as a anchor element to a mixed medium and heavy carvery lances (70kph), with the idea of putting pressure where it is needed quickly. Max armor and high speed help give the 'mech the durability to make the ammoless weapon load out work well. No LRM's on your team (why?) take this all weapon variant.
That's basically a medium mech loadout on an THE assault mech? Sorry, but I think that's too much wasted tonnage, just to put in a STD390. There are lighter mechs that can do the same without beeing the number one target the enemy focuses. I could load that on my Blackjack with no problems and would live longer because its faster and easier to maneuver.
First of all: Welcome to mechspecs! Sorry I forgot that one in my first post :whacko: I have run several funky builds on my Boars Head, including big STD engines and I have lancemates running mediums/heavies beside me. I don't think the loss of so much firepower is worth ~8kph on an assault mech. It's still not agile enough to escape dangerous situations and always the biggest target around. So aggro tank seems the right definition for this setup, but I never found myself beeing usefull this way outside of a classic brawl (where I would always prefer having bigger guns on my boars head compared to the enemy medium mech in front of me). The solution would usually be a XL engine, but unfortunatly the atlas has some juicy side torsos. Also -at least in my opinion- 2000 AMS Ammo is too much in 95% of all matches and wasted tonnage. Compared to builds, I could not give your build more then 2 of 5 stars......no offense
